Not driven my car much over the last few months and battery was flat saturday morning. Bought a charger from Halfrauds and all OK Sunday morning, great weather for an early morning blat.
The charger is one of those that says you can leave it on all the time and it will keep your battery fully charged. Car is garaged so not too concerned about leaving bonnet slightly open - any other downsides to leaving charger on all time?
Kevin
it should be fine - my dad uses on on his motorbike ( why does that make me sound about 12 ??)
it should charge the battery - then drain a bit off and charge again and so on - it shouldnt keep putting power in
this way it shouldnt effect the battery - and the charger is built to do this - so again no worries there
I use one on my car all the time \'Batery conditioning\' at the same
time, when you check the top up water it may be worth geting
those \'Bat aid tabs\' 2 per cell and with the conditioner on
your batery will be as good as can be.Do you knock off the terminals or conect straight on? as I believe that the first part of the conditioning cycle is a higher voltage in order to desulphate
the plates in the bat.
Paul..
Paul,
I just plugged straight on to the terminals and left it charging overnight. To be honest that is the first time I have even removed the battery cover in 4 years!
Kevin
Now that would worry me, I always knock off the terms before
charging, How much does the ign. c\'ct shut off, I mean if the
Desulphate part of the charging starts off as say 15-18 volts
mmmmm all those electronic bits and bobs, However I could be
completly wrong.
Paul..
