Title: Apexi RX6 single kit
Post by: jarnkamin on February 10, 2004, 08:58:10 AM
Hi!

I have some thoughts about purchasing the Apexi RX6 single turbo kit, but I don\'t know much about it at all.

How much power can it produce?
Is it worth the money or should I buy a T78 kit instead or maybe even the T88?

I want a street car that can produce about 450-470 rwhp, but I\'m very confused on wich turbo kit I should pick.

The car is RX7 FD

Best Regards

Fredrik welcome to the forums.

From the figures that I have seen for the RX6, you will not make the 450 rwhp figure that you are looking for.

I think you will need to be going for the T78/88 or a GT40 or even a GT42.

Why do you want so much power? Drag or race?????

It will mostly be used on the street as a regular streetcar on weekends and nights and some track days and dragracing.

I want pretty much power because I won\'t let my big brother beat me with his cosworth. :)

the rx6b can produce the numbers, but it must be the model tcw-77. There are two models, the tcw=76 has a smaller compressor wheel which limits it to about 400rwhp. 450rwhp is attainable on the apexi, and depending on ports even more power. The t78 is a somewhat laggy turbo. Id grab a gt35/40 for a smooth power band on the street, or get a simple t04s kit. It also depends on the porting of ur motor
