Hoping you can answer this one for me. Planning to fit my burnout kit myself and do the re-paint..
Front wings no problem as they are a complete replacement. On the rears it is just a blister to be blended into te panel work.. Can someone suggest the best method of fixing this to the car and what bond should be used? I am assume a combination of some kind of bond and rivets or screws then body filler to blend it in?
Next part is do you need to cut away the original arch section or should this not get in the way of the wider wheels/tyres? If so where do I cut from and to?
Thank you
Lee
You can indeed cut away some of the arch of you want to it depneds on wheels. If you do you can get away with a lower ride high to really fill those huge FD arches.
The rear arch\'s usually are rivited/bonded then you can go from there. You can fibre glass them in or fill them but that may well crack over time. Consult a body would be the best bet.
Thanks for the info...
Might just cut the lip off the arch or bend it out of the way?! But will talk to a body shop about fixing them and filling them in the best way.. I agree fibre glass will be better than filler initially.. and then maybe a skim of filler to finish.

Hiya....I saw a burnout kitted car, I hoped to buy it.
Being honest- it was a heap.
Just to let you know, I think you\'ll have understand there\'s gonna be a lot of work involved in making it look professional. As usual with fibreglass I guess tho.
Just thought I\'d let you know...dont want another lovely FD spoilt :)
Thank you for your concern.. I work for a company that make carbon fibre parts for F1 cars so I have a little experience with composites.. Also If in any doubt with my own abililty I will give it to a pro to sort.. Fronts shouldn\'t be a big problem (he says) I am expecting spedning a bit of time to get a nice flush fit.. Blending the rears is my main concern.. as you say I don\'t want it looking like a heap! perfection and nothing less.. When it\'s done you can all be the judges!

Ahhh thats ok then :)
Blended looks awesome....I think it looks as though the orginal lines of the car have just been accentuated, rather than bits stuck on.
Good luck with it!
ps. I\'m guessing you dont want my feed front bumper anymore :(
It couldn\'t be anything other than blended!! the riveted/stuck on ones look.. Tommy tank!
Hope I make a good job after all the talk!!
Feed Bumper.. been offered so many I can\'t remember! If yes I wil get back to you! Gonna look through my posts and e-mails!! I think I remember which one and I decided the lines weren\'t quite was I was looking for.
Cheers
