Title: GT35 T3 or T4 ?
Post by: Bulla on September 12, 2007, 11:54:43 AM
Anyone got any experience of the above ? Does the flange effect the ultimate power of the turbo ?

Any advantages/disadvantages of either ?

Gonna go for the 1.06 exhaust as I\'m aiming for 400 atw.

No expert, but the T4 is bigger I believe, better flow, more power.

T4, the T3 would be too small to flow to get 400 atw

Agreed. My T3 1.06 puts out 345 atw @ 1 Bar. You could probably get 400 but you\'d be really pushing the turbo hard. Go for the T4 if 400 is your target.

Thanks for the replies, what I suspected. I\'m in contact with ASE but I think they only do the GT35 kit with a T3 flange. Might have to go with the A-spec GT35 with the T4, I\'d just rather part with my money to the aussies than the yanks !

I did see those earlier but they only list the T3, I\'ll drop them a mail and see if they can do a T4.

pretty sure they do it in T4 frame, you may find for the price difference there is not much difference between the T04z they do and the GT35

Dont get me started on the T04Z ! I\'ve just convinced myself on a GT35 as I want spool to be as good as possible but still acheive around 400 atw if that makes sense , all that I read pointed me to the fact that the T04Z had the slightly higher bhp at expense of spool !

Out of interest how was the manifold in your kit from them ?

Just had a mail back form Morrie at hpiab and apparently they only do it in T3 aswell. Where are all these T4 kits coming from then ? The only one I\'ve found is at A-spec but I think thats been modified.

The latest manifold from HPIAB is very well made no sign of cracking and nice welds with thick use of steel, took mine off a couple of weeks a go and its in verrry good nic

mine spools up quite quick :D 1 BAR before 4K, but you need porting.
I attained approz 400 atw at 1 BAR with a street port with the Z, remember its the turbo choice for Jap circuit racers.

But I have heard nothing but good reviews abot the A-spec GT35 500r and sounds like a good deal.
