Hi,
On my way home from a drive today I noticed my (standard dash) oil pressure gauge was reading zero! It usually reads fine.
My HKS Oil Temp gauge was still reading safe value of ~75deg C, and I checked the oil level which was still at maximum and clean oil (changed the oil a week or so ago)
Could it just be *another* faulty gauge, or .... well, what?
Can I easily get a aftermarket oil pressure gauge?
worried. :3Confused :2Confused
I had the same problem mate, the connecter had come off the sensor. Have a look.:wave
yeah, you\'re prolly right... thinking about it I had a speedo conversion recently... must\'ve disturbed something..
It happened when I changed the gearbox. It will be that mate.:wave
ditto what Warthog said. Aftermarket gauges are easy to buy and install also.
evening mr hog how\'s the Kia turbo :rollin :spank

Ahh, have recently had my gearbox rebuilt...
Whereabouts is the connector / sensor so I can have a look...

There is a single wire on the pressure sensor just under/next to the oil filter, the sensors are know to fail but they usually read very low insed of zero.
If you need one the pm me as i have one spare.

to drag this up again, I\'ve noticed that my oil pressure reads about 3.5 kg/cm2 for first 5 mins of driving, then appears to follow my acceleration - speed up, needle goes up, slow down, needle reads zero. Need to have a look at my sesor / wiring methinks
That sounds about right TBH, it\'ll be higher at first start as the oil will be thicker and therefore be at a greater pressure, as it warms up it\'ll goes more watery (ish) and be at a lower pressure.
Then as the oil pump is ran from the engine it\'ll spin faster as you revs go up and therefore the pressure will be higher :D
