Title: New to rx7\'s
Post by: Timmy on September 10, 2007, 08:30:28 PM
Hey everyone just purchased a RX7 gen 3, still in japan at the moment. Wondered if you guy could be so kind as to spot the mods and name the kit.

So far i got twin hks filters, tein engine dampner, hks inter cooler piping, piaa horns, exhaust is hks from what i know. Apexi RSM plus 2 other gauges, bucket seat, steering wheel also looks like a boost controller or turbo timer on top of the steering colum.
Coilovers think they may be cusco.
Any clues on the bodkit?

And some weird kenwood stuff obviously stero related.

Woah ??

Seriously you bought without really knowing much about it ?

Do you know the mileage and rebuild status if its been rebuilt ?  A serious risk you run here mate as sometimes the guys at the auction might be getting paid off by the auction to sell their cars ??

I hope its a good one you\'ve got :cheers

it\'s 114,000km unknown rebuild status, was thinking of getting a compression test when landed to see what state it is in.

As said before, that\'s a C-West DRFT nosecone you have and sideskirts from the same kit. Unlike the N1 kit this C-West kit is not very common. The spoiler is Veilside.

Would suggest you get the sheilding for the inteercooler, as not having it is a sure way to increased inlet temps and det.

Many people have problems with this and it caught me out at first but if you click the sub-menu\'s below the for sale section on the main page you CAN access the for sale section without being a paid up member.

Just had a look at the pictures of it and here\'s my best guess :

Engine damper
Stock Twins
Greddy intake
Stock Intercooler
HKS Hardpipes
Apexi Readout on dash (AFC or AVCR?)
Greddy Guages On dash (Boost and Oil Temp?)
Sparco Drivers Bucket Seat
Non standard Steering wheel/stereo/gearnob/int mirror
Kenwood CD/DVD with remote in passanger footwell
Veilside Rear Wing
Wheels look different on Picture 8 (ReAmemiya) dont know what they are in the rest?
Kakimoto Exhaust
Aftermarket Shocks.

Fingers crossed about the condition of the engine :)

Mine was imported on 01/08/07 however I bought it afterwards, the guy who\'d imported it had entered it into an auction in Leeds WITH NO RESERVE!

I guessed that there would be some mechanical problem with it as it looked superb cosmetically, anyway one WGT replacement engine and £2,500 later the car is running superbly, I sincerely hope you don\'t encounter similar problems.

When you get it into the UK keep a VERY close check on the water/coolant useage, check the level in the central chamber after every run out, mine was pushing out virtually a litre a mile:2Mad , sorted now but after mucho financial pain.

Btw I stand to be corrected but it looks like it has got an incorrect cap (with lugs) on the expansion tank, mine was the same when I got it and several people said that it shouldn\'t cause a problem however Pip at WGT said that was rubbish and that it needs the correct cap, it\'s obviously got it now after the engine\'s been replaced :Hammer

Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of the FD3 :cheers

The car is over here now just waiting for mot. The cap on the overflow tank looks like a stock one to me. Not sure about the ast cap tho. Should 0.9bar shouldn\'t it?

Ricco:
As for the gaugers they are mines. And will be replaced with my defi\'s once i got a few more bits. The apexi item is a rsm.
One thing i am not sure about is the gearbox, maybe short shift. I dunno how short it should be anyway but it as short as my mates scooby wrx sti (or something like that) which was very short.

Yep sorry Timmy I meant the cap on the AST not the expansion tank, it should be 0.9bar without the lugs

i take it the lugs aren\'t whats important as thats just to grip it. So aslong as it\'s 0.9bar it\'s ok?
