If your removing the stock flywheel don\'t forget to fit the Auto counter balance weight

There are three different types of counter weight across the Rotary engine range, you will need the genuine Mazda one for an Auto FD

Just dont drive it through Kensington ....

However a 6 puck is pretty livable. (Now a brass 4 puck is a different story)

not driving anywhere near london....or civilisation if i can help it :rollin

i wasnt aware that more pucks the better type rule as i thought they were more hardcore. I actually very very nearly bought a 3 puck but alot of people mentioned that they are very very hard on the other components not to mention the feel!

getting used to ON or OFF or more like STILL or STALL :rollin

A Puck clutch can tend to be a "One shot" clutch setup. You dont use it to creep forward, It will slip slightly till it warms up ( Hence you have one go at take off , Then it gets grabby as it heats up)

At the moment Im driving around the Rallycar with a 4 puck sprung centre. You can drive it in traffic, But it isnt nice in a traffic jam.

Less pucks=Higher effective plate pressure , Well thats the theory.... The 5 or 6 puck in the Brother\'s VR4 is not too bad at all.

The solid centre is preferable for Heavier or Big HP cars as there are no springs to collapse.Or people who drive like they stole it.

It also varies between users and setups, Some people quite happily drive a solid centre Puck clutch and are oblivious to it .My Engine builder fitted a solid centre Puck clutch to a Customer car and he (the customer)thought it was a STD plate !

On the other hand , The Blue RX2 Coupe my brother had had a Solid centre and was a mongrel.. But it was set up for a person who could destroy a w55 box.......(not him, The old owner)

Not sure what to make of it at the moment! it is a Racing Beat 6 Puck unsprung with a ACT Pressure Plate, Lightened Fly (very light) and Auto Counterwieght. I drovr 150 odd miles so far but cruising down the motorway in 5th isnt challenging but i must admit when arriving near home it was soo grabby i stalled constantly.

not sure whether i like it or hate it. I love the Bite but the pedal is a bit hard but worse then that is the fear that it is too tough for the car and may loosen other things! i think im being paranoid anyway.

Do the puck clutches in your experience make some banging noises when you try to slip them or pull off?

thanks for all your info btw :D

Mine howls when it is cold!

If you are smooth, The clutch takeup is as smooth as any ( You just dont have springs and a Wave spring in the clutch to make you look good...)
