well, from what i hear, not many people have ever used these guys for remaps, etc... i\'ve heard alot of praise for them with skylines, mr2\'s, etc, so going to give them a go.

seems they will map using a laptop on road, not on dyno (from what i hear this is the best way as more real-life situations!)

any advise on what i should get done to ensure tip-top work? ;)

hey,

I don\'t know of anybody who has used them for tuning an rx..... I would be cautious as the rotary engine is a different animal to the piston variety, it does\'nt take much detonation to finish off an engine if not tuned right.
Not taking anything away from them, I would personally take my car to a specialist.

Sorry, I know it does\'nt help, just my 2p\'s worth.

yeah, he said he has done 6 rx\'7\'s so far for remaps.. and they have a very good rep, so worth a go tbh. plus if they turn out to do a good job, then it means there is somewhere good for us ppl in scotland to go! :D

I guess just ask them for a safe map, a little bit rich to err on the side of caution.

OK, I\'m gonna state now that I have never used the garage before but I do know that some have in the past. I seem to remember someone saying that Marc wasn\'t doing work on RX7\'s anymore because he was never making money on them (i.e. he was having to redo work I think). My car was rebuilt by them about 6 months before I got it and within 10k miles it was needing rebuilt again as a couple of oil seals were not in correctly. They do have a good rep (hence the reason I paid a highish price at the time for my car) and I don\'t see a problem using them for most things but some stuff I would leave to the specialists.

I have been using Marc for over a year now and have had mixed results. I was always happy that he seemed to have a solution to my problem but they never seemed to get sorted. A few things he claimed to have done were never actually carried out, which I found out when I fixed the problems myself. On those occasions though he always gave me a good deal?

I know he loves RX7s but hates working on them and they tend to be on the bottom of his priority list. Although he does seem to have a wealth of knowledge regarding how they work.

I have heard excellent things about his work on Skylines and MR2s and the the fact that hes so busy all the time says alot. I know a few folk who have been very happy with is mapping but personally I would only entrust that to a specialist with years of experience and not just 6 cars.

He\'s a good guy and is always happy to help though.

a trusted specialist is only a person who has alot of exprience and has leaarnt from their experienc. I think that al so called \'specialists\' have had good results and of course bad. Maybe if he had more of us hoing to him he would get better??  of course it is easy to say this but when we spend alot of money to get our cars running we odnt like to take risks. BUT scotland would benefit greatly from a trusted tuner for the rotary.
