Just after a bit of pub ammo really.
What do the engine numbers stand for?
13b-rew. OK! Umm is there a plain ol 13b?? Is it the craig david version? Can I get a 13b-REWind!!!:)
I know there were different numbers for different generations like the 12 in gen1 but is there different spec 13b\'s for different spec fd\'s?
For example Nissan Skyline had rb25det standing for "race bred 2.5 litre somethin somethin turbo for the GTS and rb25dett standing for same as above only tt for twin turbo for the GTR.
Anyhoo any trivia would be greatly apreciated so I can blind my mates with mundane facts.:D

Don\'t know if this will really answer the way you have put the question but l will zip up me anorak and give you this info.
Engine designation is not related to vehicles, only engine size and configuration i.e. if l am right just as an example the 13B first found a home in the RX-4 but you will see this engine code also in the EGI / through to the Gen 3 AND the RX-8.
1967-10a 491cc X 2 Rotor
1969-13A 655cc X 2 Rotor
1970 - 12A 573cc X 2 Rotor
1973 - 13B 654ccX 2 Rotor
1990 - 20B 654ccX 3 Rotor
1991 - R26B 654cc X 4 Rotor
That should do you, off now as l can\'t get me anorak zip undone.
The \'w\' bit of \'rew\' relates to tWin turbo.
Regards
Max
the 13 kind of relates to the capacity (1308cc\'s)
the B I am not sure about but someone has commented that it may be due to the seal design used ?
the RE is for rotary engine
and the W is to do with twin turbo\'s apparently U is related to turbo in japanse so W = double U ? twin turbo. (< not to sure about this bit but I\'ve heard it quote a few times now!)
Mike
Never understood the \'W\'-bit; whats a Cosmo 13B then? I thought it was a 13B-RE, but they are twin turbo too and are different from the -REW...?!
