I\'ve got two problems with my FD that I need to get sorted so i\'m asking the masses for advice.
The first problem is an easy fix I think, ive had a search about and it sounds like my car is overboosting due to an aftermarket exhaust and filters which is causing the ecu to cut the fuel when the second turbo is spooled on full throttle. It doesn\'t do it on 80% throttle so am i correct in thinking that if i fit an FCD this problem should be sorted?
The second problem I think will be a little bit more difficult to diagnose. When driving the car at a cruising speed on little to no throttle ie sitting at about 60 @ 2k ish rpm. when i go to accelerate the car often cuts out (no lights on the dash but a sudden loss in power) and on a couple of occasions the abs light has come on in conjunction with the cutting out but the car has never actually died on me and after the brief cutting out it pops back in to life with a kind of backfire and then were off again. It doesn\'t do it when i\'m giving the car some stick (apart from the overboosting issue) and didn\'t do it all the way back from glasgow to north wales last week when i bought the car.
The car fires up first time and when its running right, pulls like a train but the cutting out is really bugging me and i want to get it sorted so i can fully enjoy the car.
Anyone got any idea\'s of what the problem could be?

1st problem could be theres a decat pipe fitted bud, has the airpump been removed or disconnected? large pump before the plastic crossoverpipe.. (op pulley)
2nd prob sounds a bit like a faulty alternator.. not 100% on this tho bud iv heard of similar probs and that was the cause, also try making sure the engines earthed well :)

I\'ve spent the evening checking all the earths under the bonnet and there\'s no sign of any bad contacts. I took it out for a drive and seems to be cutting out worse now.
The problem seems to be when i\'m driving the car off boost and then try to accelerate. the car cuts out and the abs light comes on then the car kicks back into life and the abs light goes off till the next time it happens. If i\'m driving the car hard it doesn\'t do anything but go like stink but pootling around off boost it hates :s
Can anyone help?
When my alternator gave up the ghost it started with the Abs light going on and off and it was spluttering a bit too.
