I\'m looking to change my exhaust but don\'t want anything thats going to make me deef after a couple of miles, any ideas ..:wiggle
Re-Amemiya Dolphin tail is supposed to be the quieter of the bunch.
What you go now?
I changed my blitz for a Tiger back box, much quieter but still gives a nice sound when you drive harder.
Just put a 5Zigen on mine (having previously had some kind of rocket launcher, make unknown!) - it\'s loads quieter. Couldn\'t tell you the model though I\'m afraid.
To be honest, it\'s far too quiet for me and I liked the throaty roar of the megaphone, but I\'m going on track and it would fail pretty much every noise reg in the country, so 5Zigen it is! :(
Now the pops sound like farts and the bangs sound like someone shooting a tin can with an air rifle... :reallymad
Pip says it\'s less free-flowing too, so I\'m missing out on a couple of BHP, but they wouldn\'t be much use sitting in the pit lane crying about my lost trackday fees for being too loud! ;) Whether that\'s true of all quieter exhausts (also seemed very heavy for a stainless exhaust to me), I don\'t know.
Tiger is the way to go
Yes the Tiger is good but if you want a real nice quiet top quality cat back have a look here at the Racing beat system that we have in stock.
You also won\'t get that "drone" in the car with you!

Hope this helps,
or a mazdaspeed system. I had one on my old white car and it was nice when driving normally but sounded ice and throaty when opened up!
Fujitsubo do nice exhausts that are on the quietish side. No droning either on motorways but sound lovely when opened up.
Hi Bazza,
I have a blitz you can try it was very quiet, give me a call I am sure we can come up with a deal.
Any progess on the bonnet?
Chris
Hi had a Fuji exhaust on my MR2 Turbo and that was seriously loud (but i loved it hehe)
I\'ve got a Re-Amemiya Dolphin on mine with a de-cat pipe.
Sound better now the cats gone(louder). But is a little louder on the m-way, not to the point you have to shout at the person next to you or have you tunes maxed out.
Great for below 3.5-4k driving with a bit more bite above that.
Got a racing beat twin pipe on mine, along with a feed silenced mid pipe. Nice note really deep, not loud at all but sounds great when you floor it. Good flow too.
Heard red leader\'s Dolphin over at Carls the other week (i guess it must be his!!) and that sounded really good too.
Si.
Hi Si
Yep it was mine.
Hows your single tub going. Bet your still smiling :3gears-rh
I run a zorst....that Carl sells....It works a treat! To the point I get laughed at when getting noise tested as its only 93db at 4500rpm!!
just put a smb 3 1/2 inch syst incl a cat on mine and its great just the sound i was looking for have a listen at trax..good silencing but compensated for by the massive 3 1/2 inch piping

couldnt agree more, I have a RB back box. Having had loads of rx\'7s, this is by far the best combination and looks great too.
i have a kakimoto racing that i\'m about to put uo for sale. it has twin silencers in-line and sounds sweet too. £170 mate.

I\'ve been now told the middle of September which considering when I ordered it I was told 6-8 weeks it\'s now become 6 months. I will keep you posted.:cheers

No worries,
Let me know if you want to borrow/try this exhaust, I am sure it will be more than quiet enough. The other option of racing beat single and twin outlets is a really good exhausts, but are not the cheapest
My old racing beat exhaust was very quiet.
heres a vid of me going round the nurburgring with it on for reference. I had a cat and RB twin exit.

I have a Tiger catback on mine with a Dragon silenced midpipe and to be honest I think it\'s too loud. I reckon I\'ll change it to a Racing Beat twin exit pretty soon.

Do you still have this? How quiet was it? why did you change it?
Cheers,
Paul

The dual-tip is a better bet if people are looking to up the power as the single is a little more restrictive.
I know Simon (smarts) has recently had a very impressive result from a noise test on his (for people that\'re impressed by small numbers) - something like 92db!!!
I\'m running the same back-box but with a different mid-pipe and mine\'s a touch louder and has a nasty dron at 3k rpm (although much less so since changing to the RB backbox)...
Edited to add:
Seen from your ad that the RB single tip is supposed to be able to flow 500rwhp+, I\'d be interested in the source as all the tuners I\'ve spoken to about it state that it\'s less capable of high-flow - limiting output to < 350rwhp...
Whatever the facts of the bhp limits though the RB kit is excellent quality.

I spoke to Rotechnics who said the opposite of what you have said above:Tongue1 The single outlet is slightly louder but flows slightly better. They said the difference was small but in high power applications like mine recommended the single as small increases in flow make bigger differences the more power you are intending to run.
There is no \'supposed\' about it bud as my car is proof :wiggle. Mine was 505 FLY. It made it at WGT then again at WGT after the wastegate plumbing in which lost me 20+ hp so it was 480 fly which was backed up exactly by the Thor day a couple of months later and witnessed by many other members here. You will find the results in the members section under Thor RR day. Think it was something like 435 - 440 hub originally.
I agree it is a quality bit of kit :Thumbsup!

Very nice! Wasn\'t aware it was your car making those numbers - often figures are quoted based on the say-so of some US site but you can\'t beat 1st hand knowledge!
Do you have any db figures for your set-up withthe RE-single? What mid-pipe/DP are you using?

Turbo was hks ta45. Don\'t have any figures. Shame, I should have took some realy. RB sold today to another member. I have a tiger silenced mid and the downpipe was an unknown 3".
Know what you mean about figures. Soooooo many times just had to walk away in \'pub debates\'.
Hey Paul (Stylus350)
Recognise this?

I too can back up what Paul is stating regarding the Racing Beat Single...I am running the same!
Hi,
If you want to quiet down the exhaust i saw a article in banzai magazine that say that you could fit a purpose made butterfly exhaust valve which at a push of a button reduce the sound and will drop the bhp a little but it would be alot quieter and that would mean you could fit a race exhaust but then drive to a race track with it on quiet and when they check sound level it will pass then when you about to race you could press the button and have on full power and the track people would never know.

I looked into these just before getting the RB. The ones I found bolted between the mid pipe and back box joint. It was controlled by a cable so you could set the butterfly at any position from fully open to nearly shut. It would be a good solution for someone who likes their loud exhaust but does not want to p1ss off their neighbours.
Using it once on the open road though would seriously reduce performance as it basicly reduces flow to reduce noise.

haha! excellent explanation!
