Title: painting moving bits...
Post by: Archbish on August 30, 2007, 10:03:48 AM
So I\'ve got the S3 pretty much primed up and ready to splat some colour - only I am not sure how to do the popups and the bonnet latches and stuff...

Because these are mechanisms and I want to avoid causing them to seize or having the colour fall off first time they move, what is the best way to paint these so they don\'t need doing or replacing the next day?

cheers

OJ

Depends on what colour you want, you could have it electroplated to give a colour to it. You could always mask around the mech on the latches and give them a good clean !

Hows the car coming along ?

If I have to paint an area that has a working surface that it\'s vital to keep paint off I just smear the area I dont want paint on with grease, spray away, then wipe off when the paint is dry.

Oh, you\'re kidding - I need it in 2 weeks and 6 days.  ****e... *grin*

No worries matey - I\'ve plenty to keep me busy on the voiture, and would be great when every you have time.  Yet to get a car running... (I\'ve a feeling the FB will start before the FD...!! *grin*)
