Title: Need Seats (Learnt the hard way)
Post by: Paul1982 on August 29, 2007, 10:27:30 PM
Sold my red leather seats on ebay (guy picking them up on sat)

But my buckey seats going into the car just do not fit :(

We\'ve tried everything - they are just 2 wide and 2 tall.

Does anyone know what the best style seats to put in the Gen 3 is as i dont wanna go through that again lol (not standard ones though)???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Depends if you want to run harnesses and/or cage?

Tell us more! :D

I will have a set of seats available soon complete with subframes

I have a set of harnessess AtomicRex but dont want to go down the cage route. What seats do you have then?

The Mazdaspeed ones i\'d love - how much are they for a set of 2?

M4drx - thanks for the offer mate but i\'m looking the aftermarket stuff as i\'m not a fan on the standard seats.

its really not a clever idea to use a harnesse without a roll cage, not unless you dislike living anyway, 4+  point harnesses will hold you upright as a car filps and crushes along with your neck and spine! would not be pleasent

I\'ve a Cobra Imola sat in mine -smaller than Johns seat dimension but still a total bugger to fit - but then that was partly due to the cage.

The real pain with these seats is mounting them - you can\'t use the standard seat side mounts - you will need some kind of RX7 specific subframe. Either a specifcly designed one -like the Bride seat rails which may fit a differnt seat (need to check), or by having a custom one made up.

Getting the seat in my car was possible one of the most frustrating aspects of the build. It really did my nut in frankly.

PS: Is it just me or do those MazdaSpeed seats look like they travelled forward in time from about 1983 - they\'re bleeding horrible!

We have these RE-Amemiya seats for sale.  You will need to get some seat rails as they are not included.
