Title: White smoke???
Post by: frubes on February 08, 2004, 10:59:30 AM
HI at start up i get whiite smoke (steam) from the exhausts, which goes on for a while. What could be causing this??? I hope its nothing major.

It seems my 2nd Gen has come with lots of little extras like this that i need fixing :( (see my smelly thread)

Hi,

the steam at start up when cold, is normal to all cars with catalytic converter.
Lots of white smoke at start up in WARM or HOT condition is a bad sign, indicating water in the combustion chamber.

yeah & according to Hurley mine needs a new clutch & a rebuild shortly but the overboosting wasnt an issue, we\'ll see what Pip says tomorrow but i\'m a bit sceptical of Hurley untill i get told otherwise but wotever they aint likely to see me again.....
