i am afraid you only have to look at the stats..young male drivers are high risk next up is young females..its all the tossers that race their cars have a smack and then claim they were only doing 25mph with their 105 year old gran as a passenger and it must have been black ice
theft is not an issue as such because very few fd,s are stolen because they stick out like sore thumbs and parts are easilly traced
i am a old git at 46 but my premium dropped 200 quid even with 3 points added(42 in a 30 approaching a 40 zone)

Mine came down again this year - only £50 but it\'s most of a tank of petrol!

That\'s with A-Plan.  Might be a dodgy postcode or do you have a lot of claims Rix?

What worries me is how easily an insurance company could wriggle out of coughing up unless you have declared ALL your mods ....... not just the big power changing ones but every nut and bolt !

I know it has been mentioned that is it worth doing anything more than 3rd party ?

This years premiums will be up I think because of all the claims made with the flooding earlier in ther year. Could be wrong but the insurance people will want to make up their losses from somewhere.

Mine came down almost £200 this year.  I\'m also with A-Plan.  When expressing my suprise the guy pointed out that it is mostly standard practice to put premiums up by about 5% every year...

In my opinion you have to be dedicated to own a car that will cost over £1500 to insure, and i dont think i would want to do that!
Mine down to £255, 7 yrs no claims on this one im 26 live in Cornwall all mods declared inc full bodykit carbon bonnet and running 311 bhp at the fly and for my other one (claimed 450 bhp not yet confirmed stripped and roll caged single tub etc) another £34 . Sorry if your now feeling down :Laugh

Anyway try these people the woman on the other end has a very sexy voice and  they do good insurance.   Warwick Davis on 08712232141 ,and as other people have said declare everything they Will use any excuse to get out of paying out if they need to.
                  hope this helps Rob.

Try SKY insurance!
I rang around loads...was getting stupid quotes of 2-3 thousand.
When I rang SKY....they insured me for 1200...and they mirrored my no claims from my other car, so not really using them, but taking into account I had them

Cheers Charlie
ps. im only 21

I found Brentacre insurance (01792 650933) really good. Really good to talk to no computer says no crap. £600 all mods declaired on my FC with no increase in premium if I do any mods as long as they arn\'t preformance based.

as i said on my thread the other day...im with Sky a well. Peeps were wanting ~£1700 and Sky got me just over £1k. Thats with a (guesstimated for the minute) 300rwhp,

Im 23, 5yrs NCB and all mods declared.

(MOST) INSURANCE COMPANIES = DICKS :D

I work for an insurance company, and looking down the list of models of RX7s - They do all appear as 2400cc, I think only one appears as 2600cc!
Curious!!

The imports are supposed to be rated at 2600cc and UK cars 2400cc( or the other way round, I forget which),makes a bit of a difference but not much. Insurance companys make you have it on the RX cos of all the ******s in their scoobys etc crashing the ****ers all the time. Ps, Rixio, er could you slow your vid down a bit ,I can\'t quite see what happening -oh no I\'ve gone blind aaarrgghhh!!!!!!

Import FC\'s are 1300cc on the log book. Uk FC\'s are 2400cc on the log book. UK FD\'s are 2600cc on the log book. Not sure about import FD\'s though.

Its more a case that the FC where classed as 2.4l and the FD 2.6l, they are both 13b based engines but makes their life easier !

Yeah I don\'t really think they know what to class them as so just made something up! Im gonna write to the DVLA about getting mine re-classed when I can be arsed. Not sure it\'ll work but some people have had luck getting them changed to 1.3\'s.

yep, Sky have me down for the 2354 even though I told them otherwise. The only 2616 they had on their system was the auto \'boxed one.

THe guy I spoke to knew his stuff though and said that they have this problem all the time - some insurers deal with it, some can\'t be arsed. So he attached a note to my policy stating that it was for the 2616 and not the 2354. :D

Rixio, you managed to sort some decent insurance out yet fella ?? sounds like your having a mare compared to most at the minute !!!

Perhaps all the insurance companies have heard how low your new ride is and are putting your premiums up to compensate !!! :D:D
