A good brand named Mineral oil. I would suggest one of these.

Castrol GTX 10w40
Mobil M 15w40
76 Nascar 10w40

Funny that as I am going to use this with my next oil change , I have done a lot of reading up on oils and there still seems to be a great amount of people who are very wary of synthetics, I have always used Silkolene pro r in my previous cars, used it in all my skylines and Gto I know they are completely different engines but still going to give it at go.

I have used Synthetics for many years, and have had excellent results from the Silkoline Pro S and Pro R. I did alot of research before doing so, and would add that if you are not pre mixing, I would suggest a straight mineral with frequent changes.

Quotehey nick, hows the motor?

Its ok thanks only problem I had recently is my turbo was blowing oil on boost so I have been looking for a replacement T04S but the funny thing is it seems to have have stopped and is no longer blowing any oil confused me for a while then realised that the problem only came to light after my last oil change it was not overfilled but now the oil stick shows 75% full so I am guessing too much oil was being forced through the turbo.
This would make sense as I know a lot of guys on RX7 owners club in the states run with a restrictor to prevent this happening.

Cheers

I take it you premix then?

The thing is, so much talk and no real evidence! I\'ve heard a lot about decent proper fully synths just burning away 100% clean so better in some ways than mineral, but other say they leave deposits...

*shrug*

The synths are going to be so much better for the turbo\'s, e-shaft etc... But who\'s knows about the combustion side of things! I can\'t see my motor lasting masses longer so I\'m going to "risk" the fully synth and see what it does ultimately.

Those Dexelia oils look much better value than the likes of Castrol Magnatec that I normally use for my cars.

Yes they are a good price, especially considering its got Mazda on the front.
We have sold a fair amount of this, and no one can argue its no good, mazda have endorsed it ;-)

Total quartz 9000 for the engine (a cracked mineral oil classed as synthetic) and Millers KB2T premix oil (synthetic and castor oil blend) and your sure to stir up the oil debate thread again with this one.

I\'ve been using Quartz 9000 for about three years now without any problems. If you can get it at the right price then have a word with your engine builder if under warranty if not the choice is yours. As the camp is pretty split some swear by mineral because Mazda say so others do there own thing. I\'m not saying who\'s right but as the Oilman put in one of his posts mineral oil is S**t from the ground and synthetics are engineered in a lab so you pays your money and makes your choice. Set up will also have a bearing on what you use also, if pushing big power then you can exceed the limitations of mineral oil and if running premix with the OMP blanked off then its a bit academic anyway. I\'ll now stand by to be flamed by the mineral oil guys:spank

Well i for one cant make sence of any of the oil arguments but as have every service record from japan from new and they all state the oil that has been used, upon research it was found out to be mineral oil and since import its been treated to the same, with that in mind i had a compresion test at RS4 and came out with 7.2 on the rear and 7.5 on the front, so as has been stated in a previous post "it aint broke SO i aint gonna fix it". :D

One point is i have a 1992 with 89k miles on the clock with metal gaskets all round so the general opinion was its had a rebuild witch was what i was told when i sent some of my service history to our contact in japan to be interperated. :D
