Title: Different Fuels
Post by: Gatesy on August 21, 2007, 03:26:54 PM
Right guys need some advice. I\'ve had my FD mapped on vpower.  This weekend I\'m driving from Wales upto Essex.  Will be filling up just as I leave with Vpower and again at Cheiveley services (83 miles in).  On Monday morning we\'re driving to Northampton and as far as I\'m aware there are no Shell garages on my route.  i\'ve run with BP ultimate before and get higher knock readings, car isnt as responsive and I get alot less miles than usual to a tank.
Would I be better off trying some tesco 99ron stuff as well or is it more substandard than the BP stuff?

99 Tesco stuff has a percentage of Bioethanol in it which gives it a higher ron value so (wards of det) actually slightly leans out afr (so increases chances of det) when I have mapped with it so I have to richen up the map for 99 Tesco fuel.
So if I was you use BP ultimate and wind the boost down a little

I\'m sure there is a few Shell\'s on the way... I used to go up to Northampton way quite a bit (and Bedford Autodrome)...

But on here: http://www.shell.com/home/PlainPageServlet?FC=/uk-en/html/iwgen/shell_for_motorists/service_stations/app_station_locator.html

There\'s a plan your route which could help out ;)

Shell the best fuel to use on rex\'s? I used BP ultimate at the weekend and it seemed ok. What RON is V Power? I have a tesco near me, so is it worth just using 99?
