Title: Almost ready
Post by: XMN on August 20, 2007, 12:55:13 PM
Hi

since she is almost ready, just waiting for the ICE install and the unfortunate situation of having to have some if it painted again due to reactions, I thought it was time to post a few pics.

I know the colour scheme isnt original but I love it

Crikey, that\'s corking that!

Obviously, not being a long-time member on here I don\'t know the history of the car. Is it a replica or original from the film.

If it has been fitted by yourselves, how did you find the Fortune kit?

Well done,
Jamie

its a replica

I had the kit fitted. Have millions of pics all the way through, generally it was a good fit but did need attention here and there

stuning mate and well done for pulling it through...there were many people who wanted this kit but didnt due to how much work it would take to get it right.  Well done again as you are the only one in the Country with this car and now may have many to follow you once they know it can/ is good rare kit to go for.  I bet you will be asked millions of question so be ready...:Thumbs-up

There is one on Ilse of wright and another in UK I know of being built, but you are the first to have posted pictures and completed.
We have got a jornalist coming to our BBQ on Sunday 26th, this is ideal if you could get it here for a feature in a mag

must have big pockets as stated.  but good for you, you cant take money with you when you go and what better to spend it on than your pride of joy (or at least thats what all my cars have been).

looks stunning,   bit concerned about the hydrolic handbrake,  you consideiring drifting it?   you really must be loaded,  i only did a an hour or so at rs4 and ripped my front arch out,  i would hate to think what damage you would do to that on a rough drift circuit

nahhh not really, just that you loose your handbrake when you fit the rotora rear brakes on so you need either a second caliper or a hydraulic handbrake

still... it will be fun to have a play with the handbrake ;)

if you left the kit as it was you would have to take the back end off to change a bulb. if you cheat and cut out a panel in the boot, then it will make life easier in the future ;)

Dude the car looks absolutely amazing; the fortune kit really does set that car off. Its not very often people can put the work in and pull a work of art off like this the whole car shines. I really like what you have done with it, now all you need to do is quit your current job and set yourself up with your own business selling replica parts for the Tokyo drift movie lol. I must say really nice work well done. I hope you enjoy your new toy it and I am sure you will have many people looking at it and also taking photos of it treating it as the Tokyo Drift Show Car.

Being honest I tried to not go crazy so as to try to keep it reliable. Thats why I kept the twins. so I uprated the injectors and added a couple along with HKS-RS induction, new intercooler Blitz NUR spec decat exhaust etc.

I will see about some internal pics soon. just having the ICE install so after that I guess. I fitted some Cobra Misano\'s and matched the leather on them for a full leather re-trim

Pip dyno\'d it at a little under 350, that will do for now :)

350bhp in a light car is rapped - I think people on here forget how fast that is compared to most cars on the road. Yes 450bhp is easy to get to but there is already not much on the road that can touch the RX.

I\'m looking for similar power as, its drivable and can be used every day :-)

thats my take on it, a ferrari 360 has 400 horses so in that context 350 is fine IMHO

tell you what, thats one of my wishes too, this project has been such a pain with everything going wrong and taking much longer with it being like a one off its unbelievable. even today with the ICE install parts of the fitting kit for the composites are missing, and guess what they are the bits we need to use......... typical lol

I was thinking of green back frp Misanos for mine cause they are one of the best looking seats around.
In Japan they were 52% off. So I was thinking of a green interior.

I can cross those off the list though. I am not making that kind of modification.

I guess it will be black bride then.

Looking good. I look at the fortunes everytime I go to Newera yard. They always look awesome. Yours does too!

It is nice to see someone spending money on style instead of chasing BHP figures all the time. Were the works wheels a substitute due to Andrew\'s not being made anymore?

hi Mate, thanks and yes they were. There wasnt really much choice for simple looking wheels and the andrew evo\'s were an excellent choice but I think the work wheels look fine too :)

Only just noticed this thread!

Good to see another one! :D We\'ve got 2 here, one\'s sold - other one\'s just about ready to sell too. I think people fail to realise how much work has been involved in creating your Fortune FD!

Great job there. I think you\'re right about not fitting a big single. I prefer driving the twin than the crazy TO4Z one..

Are you doing a proper sound installation, etc. inside too?

You\'re going to laugh at the amount of attention these cars get. Camera phones and people pointing everywhere you go :D

Hi Miguel

I remember when we spoke oct.nov last yr I was aware what the work was going to be but your right there is more than you think. The rear lights had to have the back panel cut out and covers made so that you can access the bulbs without a nightmare.  Also the petrol tank piping etc etc and then more etc etc lol.

re the ICE, I have built this for myself and as such have gone for stelth. I have retained the rear seats so that my kids can get into it and have therefore, fitted as big as can fit into the current holes speaker wise. head unti wise I have gone for the all singing/dancing dvd/sat nav/digital tv etc double din unit. I have managed to find a couple of small amps that fit neetly behind the back seats. Not my preferred choice of make but the boot is still useable which is the main thing.

I have also had a spare wheel custom built so that I wont be totally stuck in the event of a puncture. Its been a very long project a year so far and there have been trials and tribulations along the way but I am looking forward to get it back shortly after the bumper has been painted again

lol..... your right about the camera phones lol

cheers for the interest :)

Hi Dan

thanks but I must admit I am already a lucky father :) I have two fantastic kids.  My son and daughter are both what every father could ever wish for being sporty, intelligent and popular with their peers.

I was thinking of getting some more done when the weather is better so its looking like its better to wait until next year. I must admit, I am looking forward to meeting some more of the MRC gang, shame there wernt more of you over on the IOM track day.

well its been a long time in the making but I pick my baby up on Monday, I hope I havnt spoken too soon and something goes wrong just before I get her. Not withstanding that I will be flying up the motorway to Pips for him to have a final look at her before I take the ferry home.

Hope to see you all out there at shows during the year. I hope you arrange another Jurby track day and that more of you come over. If any of you can make it Mad Sunday during TT is the best day of the year for me so come to that if you can
