2 holes underneath and 2 rear brake pipes she failed on which I did today and now shes through mot, just waiting for new hood from states.
had a good drive in the car today with top down, decat and 10psi boost and it feels all most as quick as my fd when on boost!!
what a top drive these cabs are and the noise behind your ears sounds awesome, I love this car more than my fd :Thumbs-up
Well done bud, enjoy her while there is a bit of summer......:Thumbs-up :yes
Congrats, good to see another cab back on the road.
10psi - so you have been tweaking already then :D
glad to hear she passed the MOT
As a matter of interest what was the emmissions like, I have just put through my show car (red cab) and the CO was 0.28% and HC 177. really low figures and only on a front cat.
My other cab went through with CO 0.48% and HC 400.
just be interested as i hear so many cars fail this part of the test. Oh both are TII\'s.
congrats on it passing ........such a good feeling eh ?!!!
A TII will pass the emissions if its completely DCATted :yes
My car passed the emissions last year - with 0.4% CO and 244 ppm HC, but after street porting and removal of air pump and ACV, it was much harder to get it through this time (failed on first attempt) and it got through just (fast idle). Basically the CO figure can be quite low - in my case about 1.6%, but the HC count was well into the 3000\'s - they are allowed to increase the revs (upto about 1500 RPM) and if the HC drops below 1200 - your car is a pass.
However to get through it required tweaking of the AFM bleed thru air screw (normally capped off) and a fresh set of plugs.:Thumbs-up
Forgot to add - in both cases I had no cat.
I also suspect that if I could introduce pumped fresh air using a smog pump into the exhaust, and tweak the emanage to lower the Hyrdrocarbons, it would lower the percentages enough to get a pass - that\'s a possible project for over winter/spring - as the MOT will be up in May again.
passed emisions with stock setup with cat on, since then ive put straight through exahust, boost controler, fuel cut defender, hks filter and boost gauge which all came of my fc drag car , checked afr with lamda stuck in exahust on boost at 10psi and its quite rich, not going to chance any higher than 10psi on stock ecu and stock fuel setup though.
joining back up now so I will post some pics oof the cab and my fc drag motor going in, there aint much room in the engine bay on the turbo side on the fc for a t45 turbo, ive had to extend the 2 runners on the turbo manifold to swing it out of the way to fit it in the engine bay!!!
It fits in now so ive just got to pipe ic up and pipe swirl pot and fuel pumps and we should be cooking, all the microtech looms wired up on the motor now so im getting there, time is a big problem for me at the mo big time!!
the cab sounds nice matey
thats the plan for mine to be honest - apart from the boost controller
