Title: Idle Issue - Clutch switch?
Post by: JohnnyP on August 15, 2007, 09:28:25 PM
Hi,

from a cold start my fc settles to a nice idle but occasionally once I\'m moving and the clutch is down the revs will drop and the car will stall. Other times, normally when hot I think, the idle will sit in neutral with the revs high (1200-1800 rpm), a blip on the throttle will settle it back down to 900rpm. And recently, I changed gear and the revs rose when the clutch was down, only happened once though. These are all very intermittent and random. I had a look at the pfc sensor check and the clt doesn\'t light up when the clutch is down. Does this point to the clutch switch or something else?

just bypass the switch by jumping the terminals, see if it still does it.  Its only a two wire switch.

Thanks for that. Excuse my ignorance though, what do you mean by jump the terminals?

bypass the switch and put a piece of wire in each of the PLUG ends at the end of the loom, this then just makes the circuit bypassing the switch if it is faulty. Just cut a piece 6" long and make sure you have 10mm of exposed wire at each end. bend in a loop and simply place in each of the terminals.
Not sure the switch will cause this though as i have had this plug off with no side affects but yes it is a signal going to the ECU and may be causing a spike or something
