Title: ATF Cooler + Stock Radiator
Post by: imebgo on August 14, 2007, 12:26:52 PM
Any reason why the ATF fluid going to/from the cooler is routed through the radiator?

Is it going through the bottom and straight out again, is this for extra cooling?

Im swapping for a Koyo radiator which is manual so I guess I would need to do something with this, maybe upgrade the ATF cooler and route straight into the engine and bypass the radiator?

Can anyone help on this?.  I want to replace my radiator but I am unsure on why the ATF cooler is plumbed back through the radiator.

Does it have anything to do with stopping the fluid getting too cold? Because the fluid gets far too thick at lower temperatures, so the radiator will keep it at minimum temperature by warming it with the engine coolant?

Thanks,

James
