My water buzzer went of for the first time this morning so filled the water up at the pot next to the alternator. Have seen smoke from the exhaust on occasions but it’s not always there so now I’m scared the water seals have failed or are on their way out. I do have water injection so this may be the cause.
Thought I\'d check that I done it right so have searched and found mention of a hose on the manifold in order to bleed air out but which hose as I haven\'t found any pics and there are loads of hoses.
If i was you i\'d put a set of new caps on (AST and engine level) and make sure there the correct way round (sprung one on the AST)
Then i\'d top it up and mark the level on the Overflow bottle (drivers inner wing) and keep a close eye on the levels. Also when you turn it off after a run and its quiet listen carfully to it for any Hissing noises or Bubbling (sign of a leak)
What does AST stand for? Is that the silver bottle?
Air separator tank
If you look att the engine filler kneck there is a small dia pipe that goes off to a Bottle (usaly Grey Plastic but may have been replaced with an Alloy one) thats the AST. Usaly fastened to the side of the stock Intercooler.
