Hi all,
Thinking about getting mine sprayed but wondered if its possible to do myself.
Anybody done this or know the procedure to do this?
Do a search on JohnF, he split his MS wheels a little while back. Got a good result.

Are you just after spraying the centres? Most refurb places will charge a lot to refurb splits due to the time taken to take them apart and the danger of snapping bolts etc.
If you are willing to do it yourself, you can then just take the bits you want Spraying/Powder Coating to the neccessary place and it will probably be a lot cheaper :)
DIY - what\'s the worst that can happen, you have to pay to have them put back together.
It\'s a tedious job but well worth it. You can find reasonable places to get whatever you want done.
I didn\'t paint, I went polished really pleased with the results.
And all for £200, bargain...

Sounds daft but before you go through all the work of undoing all the Bolts that hold them together make sure they are 2 or 3 piece rims, There are allot out there that have had studs put round the edge to appear to be Split rims but are not.
That said if you do have proper split rims and you disassemble them be carfull not to damage the Gasket (if its a gasket type rim).
The gasket can usually be removed, and glaziers silicon used to reseal 3 piece wheels :)
I split mine, polished the lips with about £45 worth of materials, got the centres powdercoated for £100, and then reassembled them - the best quote i\'d had from a refurb place was the ugly side of £400!
