Title: Wheel Bearing.
Post by: Bri on August 09, 2007, 04:31:24 PM
Hi,

I am looking for a front wheel bearing for my RX7 - 1999. Does anyone know where I can get one and how much they are?

Cheers,

Bri

Go to Jimmy\'s (see the banner at the top of the page) think I paid about £100 for it.

Mazda charge a fortune for new ones because the bearing is part of the hub.

Will ask Jimmy\'s for a price, did you replace it yourself? Are they difficult to fit?

Cheers,

I had a go at changing it myself, but got to the last ball-joint and couldn\'t seperate it, you might have better luck.

There are some on ebay at the moment: if you look at the Jap Parts shop he has some from a 95 (I think model), not sure if they work out cheaper though.

I didnt find it hard to get to the front wheel bearing...i got away with regreasing mine as there was a lot of moisture in them. Off the top of my head, i think you have to remove the wheel, then its a 35 or 36mm socket (again off the top of my head) to remove the hub nut, then you slide the disc and the hub off the knuckle and voila. i dont know if you need tools to press the new bearing in tho as I never removed the outer casing
