The car is running fine now. When I done the engine swap I replaced the vac lines in the rats nest etc. The car is currently running on stock ECU. I do use it just to run around at the moment.
I have an Apexi ECU which needs fitted and mapped. While I\'m onthe stock ECU I do not go above 3Krpm and I do not use any boost. (just to be safe).
I basically don\'t have the time or money at the moment to drive down to WGT to get it mapped.
Curious as to what it\'s worth. Thanks for your time!
about £5.50 - how would you like paying ??
not sure on the value - a lot depends on how much you want and how long you want to hold onto the car for ( if you want top dollar for it )

£5.50 ?? Sweet!! I can buy erm.... SFA with that! lol
Well if its any consolation i saw a black RX go through an auction a few days ago for 4k was a 95 reg with lover 100km on the clock! it didnt have any information reguarding history either!
Its a uk spec for a start so that comes with a premium, lets face it cheaper insurance form the ofset is a good thing :driving
its worth what someone is willing to pay for it and what your willing to take for it i guess best thing to do is advertise at what you want then see what happens
What\'s the going rate for a UK Rx7 of my spec then?
I\'d say its worth from £4k-£5k personally - they are cheaper ones out they but this is a UK model and looks very nice!
Surely more no? I see Jap ones with 60K miles on them go for about £5K. My car should (in theory) have another 25K miles on it.
i would say around the 4-5k mark considering well sorted ones with loads of mods go from 6k. the fact that the engine hasnt been rebuilt will put off a few buyers as engines can go from anything over 30k-40k miles
you can stick it on ebay with a reserve and see if it gets close to that. will be interesting to see
Engine with 34K miles put in July 07???
Doesn\'t that mean it\'s had a new engine put in?
Just says to me that the engine just gone in will need a rebuild very soon - unless he\'s forgot to mention if the engine was rebuilt before it went in
A well maintained engine shouldnt go at 34k! (unless something suporting it dies) hell havnt there been guys on here that have had an engines run to near 100k before it decided to give up the ghost? Agreed with what shafster said (jeesh m8 knew you on imoc and mr2oc) the engine is a big put off for buyers, especialy to those without the know. :wiggle I feel these cars should be worth more than they are. it\'s comparable to the supra performance wise! yet rarely do you see a supra TT go for under 4k even with starship mileage, unless its realy tatty and something wrong.
Yeah, my old engine at 100K miles went pop so I fitted one with 34K miles last month. It should last a long time tbh if looked after.
It\'s no wonder prices are so low for rx7\'s if people spread rumours of engines dying at 30 or 40K miles.
yep yep , it\'s like i\'ve had arguments at work with a guy who apprently knows rotary engines, (this guy is one of those know it alls) He told me every horror story and misconception going reguarding the engines saying that at 50k they are dead and need a complete rebuild with greatly over exadurated prices!
With guys like this and what they generly belives being the truth about the cars reliability make no wonder they hold little value. The parts aint the problem its the labor, but to be honest its no differant than anyother car if an internal goes bang!
It would be interesting to know how many of our engines out there have just gone \'bang\' without a reason such as a supporting component dieing, or running lean.
yeah..... water seal failure seems to be the biggest problem tho. But tbh after doing the engine swap, I would quite happily tackle a rebuild.
jim, thats something i would love to do in the future! i\'ve even considered buying a blow engine and working on it in the meantime, but dont realy have the funds or the space to do that atm! yey for big bills coming out in one go :wiggle
I paid just over 10k for mine :Thumbs-up
Jim if you decide to sell can you drop me a mail at mifn21 @ dsl.pipex.com
Cheers
