Title: Adrian Flux...
Post by: koolance on August 06, 2007, 09:37:31 AM
When insuring a car with adrian flux, is it correct that they ask you to provide pictures of the car from each side / interior / wheels / brakes / engine bay / underneath so they can see if you have an exhaust.

Or is this alot of rubbish?

Depends on the kind of policy, with classic/agreed value policies the anwer is a definate yes.

Providing you have declared your mods, I don\'t see how there could be a problem?

Yes, did this for years for Flux (but not the underside or brakes). Suddenly realised Aon was miles cheaper on Agreed Value without the hassle of photographing the self same things every year.

I\'m with flux this year, and no, they didn\'t want photos on this occasion - AFAIK it depends on the particular policy you have with them

I don\'t think I had to with my FD but I did when I had a mini cooper insured by them.

However, I don\'t use them anymore as they wanted an extortionate amount of money for a daily drive.

Wonder if they give a rebate for NO spoiler?

I haven\'t managed to beat Adrian Flux...had to send pics and have declared all my mods and been charged nothing extra! That was adding wheels, front bumper, skirts and a rear diffuser! I think as they\'re just a broker it depends what policy you end up on as to what happens.

i cant seem to get a better quote than flux but been with them for a few years now. had a show car insured for stupid amounts on agreed value as it was a complete custom one off..... never once been asked to supply pics but they do like sending out a sh*t load of paperwork to fill in & if you dont get it back to them on time they cancel the policy & as the payments are set up through a finance company, they then try to take the full outstanding balance of the policy off you...(speaking from personal experiance as they did this to me) ...did get resolved in the end though.

I didnt with adrian flux when I used them few years back, though I found \'mods\' expensive with them.
My car was written off and getting the money for it wasnt very straight forward, I use bell, bell and elephant i find cheap, even for my age and history

Just had a quote from AF: £1080 f/c on an unmodified twin-turbo import (except bodykit & wheels, which were declared), plus a 30% discount if I can prove my 1 years ncb. That sounds quite good to 28 year-old garage-less me. And they didn\'t even ask what the kit was or the wheels.

I was with Flux for two years and they quoted me a ridiculous figure at renewal with no real reason why it should\'ve gone up by over a ton. Wrote them a polite letter saying I would not be renewing with them...

Then wrote the car off two days before the policy ended.

DOH!

As you can imagine, they were very keen to process my claim quickly and went out of their way to be helpful. Not. The only way I got the claim settled was to ring the underwriters twice a day until they got so narked off with me they paid the full amount to make me go away. Flux did nothing to help. Got a letter last month from them telling me the claim was now settled and they hoped I was happy with my service, which was nice. Only a shame the claim was settled a year ago...

Been with Tett Hamilton since, bloke was incredibly knowledgeable about RX-7s, even down to some of the variants. Only bizarre thing was that it\'d have added about £100 to have kept bucket seat, but none of the other mods made any difference. Weird!
