Post by: Hayward North on August 05, 2007, 07:17:51 PM
Was just wondering if anyone owned this as it looks like it would have made me sulk for a very long time.

I\'ve been to look at this! Every pannel is trashed except the passenger door!
Infact quite a few people around Bristol have looked at it, including a few members on here. Don\'t think the owner is on here!
Anyway he wants way to much for it, as was said the engine is the only salvagable bit, even the interior has been left to get wet and is pretty poor. The guy\'s mate (who has no specialist rotary knowladge)has told him it\'s worth 2-2.5K:rollin  So thats what he wants for it!

He\'d be best of stripping it and selling in bits, that way he may just sell 2k from it if he has proof of rebuild and a comp test, but as it is he won\'t see half that.

All said if he was a little bit smarter he would have covered it up and tried to look after it a bit :(

on an insurance note, why wont they pay out? (besides being total *******s) the crash has nothing to do with having a bodykit fitted! would have thought he would be able to fight for some money!

Working in a Body shop i see this all the time.

For example, The insurance engineers don\'t like anything thats not Declared. Simple as that. People have this impression that they will be able to take mods off if they are unfortunate enough to have a smash (not always the case) and people allways look on the bright side (well it will never happen) but it does happen rather too much where you smash your car up and the car is Recovered back to a Body shop etc then anything you do or take from the car is Logged (so no sly engine swaps ;)) its simple get an engineers report done and they can\'t argue.

I can garantee that crash was his fault (none fault claims are big buissness at the mo and he would have gone through an Agency who pay for the Job / car Hire then claimes it back of the other guys insurance, its a way people make big money with elevated car hire charges etc trust me they just want the work and they are not bothered if it has mods or not as you don\'t have to declare them as its nothing to do with your Insurance
