Title: Twin or Single turbo
Post by: Aaz on August 05, 2007, 12:00:25 PM
Hi all,
Wanted an RX for years now and at last finally in a position to own one, the missus aint sure mind!!  have been reading the threads with interest and slowly understanding the issues with buying and owning the RX, 1 question I cant find an answer is - which is best twin or single turbo?  currently looking at a gen3 in the 4-5kish bracket, I wont be \'modding\' the car for sometime and its gonna be a weekend \'toy\'.

cheers

Aaz

there is no easy answer im afraid as each has its own merits and problems, but if you can make it to rotorstock or find a few members in the area im sure people will be happy to chat with you about their setups.

4-5k is a bit low for a decent single turbo inmo.

Best thing is to try driving both as they can be competely different.

I prefer a good single, mazda should\'ve made them like this out of the box imho, but each to their own. A good single will have plenty of supporting upgrades so expect to pay more than a bog standard rex.
