bad earth maybe ??

i dont understand - it goes off when you press the pedel - so does that mean its always on ???

it does sound like a bad earth though - have a look at the rear lights and see how it earths to the chassis - then either remove and make another earth or clean it all up ( or add another earth so there is 2 )

you can test it ( cheating ) get a piece of wire - strip both ends of it - hold one against the earth on the lights and stick the other end on bolt heads in the boot ( new possible earth point )

get someone to press the brake and mess with the lights and see if this fixes it

if it does - this proves it a bad earth - so either clean or replace the one it has now

and yes - you can get these symptons on one side only - as the other side is earthed properly and that side isnt !

you see it on old cars - when they indicate and brake - the brake light flashes - bad earth all the way !!

simple !! :D

had this on mine... bad earth too...  turned out it was the tiny little bit of metal that ran from the mounting that holds the bulb...  you\'ve got to remove the rear light cluster (including the plastics bits above it in the boot) to get to it...  bit of a pain.

old cars start to corrode  :(
