Title: turbo functions confusion
Post by: michaelb on July 31, 2007, 03:53:39 PM
Hi All

I have always thought that stock FD had 2 turbos.

The first one kicks in at around 3k and the second one kicks in at around 4.5k

However, someone on here has recently corrected me saying that the first turbo kicks in first then the first and second kick in both together later, is that right?  I think that I am correct…

Regards,
Michaelb

Ok, well KICK is not the right term, it is relatively smooth. I would say it\'s smoother than an automatic changing gears.

What the system does is... uses ONLY the 1st Turbo up to 4.5k rpm.
Then the second turbo is added to the 1st Turbo above 4.5 k .

thats not the case guys, first turbos comes in straight away then second spools then at 4.5k they both come in together.

its not one then the other and its not a small one and then a big one,
