Title: Mot
Post by: buckman67 on July 30, 2007, 01:20:46 PM
Car sailed through its first MOT today under my ownership.....well ish.   The only issue was the Lambda part of the emissions check.  CO2 was OK at 0.2% but the Lambda failed at 1.06 initially ( should be 1.03 ).  Apparently large diameter exhausts can draw air back in during the test ??? and bugger up that part of the test. So with a little manouvering of the pick up and a strategically placed rag she passed OK.
He suggested changing the O2 sensor as a precaution as it has covered 56K and may not be A1. Could a factor also be that I\'m running the car on the base map of a new apexi with only a HKS induction kit and HKS BOV from standard fitted, I understand they tend to run richer than normal.
Nevertheless another year of rotating to look forward too.

Can anybody recommend an sensor supplier ??. Certain UK websites are asking £97 for one but the price in the US varies considerably between $30 for NGK and $126 for Bosch. There must be quality issues here ?
