Title: Greddy Exhaust Temp Guage - The warning light is on!!!
Post by: Willcox on July 29, 2007, 04:19:34 PM
Just wondering if anyone can assist.

I\'ve been out of the UK for several months, and on my return jumped into the RX7 and noticed that the red warning light on my Greddy Exhaust temperature gauge comes on after leaving the engine running for a minute or two.  The gauge appears to be working fine, and the temperature rises as i drive (like normal).

I have the FC commander, but i\'m not sure whether exhaust temperature is monitored (i doubt it to be honest).

My question is.... what do i do?  I would never normally ignore a warning light, but then again, if all that the greddy gauge does is monitor exhaust temperature, then the temperature levels appear to be no different than normal.

Thank you in advance.

what temperature is the gauge reading?

As i said, it comes on not long after starting the engine.  The greddy gauge starts at 300 oC, so its not reading any higher than that.  I\'ve been out for a drive this evening;  I didnt push it particularly hard, and the readings were normal... up to around 600 oC after some twin turboage.

All seems to be running as normal, but i am a little paranoid that i\'m doing some damage.

just to update you, i found the Greddy Gauge manuals on their website and i\'ve fixed the problem.  Its possible to set the temperature at which the warning light comes on.  For some reason, mine had been reset to the lowest temperature, therefore i was getting a warning within minutes of turning the engine on.

I have now set it to around 800 oC, which should hopefully be about right (can anyone out there offer any advice on that?)

Thanks.
