Title: Turbo/porting help :P
Post by: interloper393 on July 26, 2007, 12:43:20 PM
Hey peeps, ok the business is going well so im going to start buying the parts i need for my rex project but just have a few questions..
Im wanting to  go single and looking for around 500bhp, any idears on the best turbo and porting without all the hassle of like 4krpm pull aways and nightmareish town driving?
Looking for around 2k spooling, would love the brrap brrap noise 2 but unsure if driving would be a bugger.

Im thinking..

To4 S/R/Z
Half bridge or large street port
full rebuild
vmount
alloy rad
water injection
feed downpipe, decat, kakimoto exhaust
850 2ndary injectors
Bosch fuel pump

should see 500bhp with the above?:Tongue1

Dont shoot for 500hp then. Big ports = less driveability. High hp engines = expensive, high maintenance and relatively short lifespan as stuff just wears out quicker...

If you are not going to be tracking it or dragging it all the time, I would aim for a good 350-400 at the rubber and be happy. Plenty fast enough and much easier to live with.

Won\'t you need a Fuel Pressure Regulator for this set-up mate.........??????

Don\'t think the feed downpipe will work either bud, is it not for twins..???............

Don\'t you need to modify the rail for the injectors too....??????

Thats why I said \'all the time\' - driving a bridgeport about in traffic every da will soon get on your tits. And a big turbo spooling late will also annoy you by the sounds of it :)
