Title: Quick question....
Post by: trotter on July 26, 2007, 12:15:43 PM
Hey all, found a nice FD that me gonna look at soon...

92 plate, gunmetal grey, Veilside C2 front and skirts.

Quick question tho.......

Comp test done by Pip in Aug \'06 showed these:

7.75 7.65 7.15 â€" Front
7.35 7.35 7.50 â€" Rear

the car has done around 3k since then - should I expect the results to have changed much? Or is that a question of how its been driven, cared for, etc??

CHeers in advance

Could have. The key point is, dont rely on a compression test as a guarantee that you wont need to pay for a rebuild in the near future. It gives a good assessment of overal condition, but doesnt rule out an apex seal failure for some random reason, or coolant o-ring failure around the corner...

Buy it with your eyes open, these can be very expensive cars to own if you are unlucky.

as rich said compression can change anytime so if you can tets it at point of sale. generally it looks like a nice and tidy car.
