Too mint to end up anywhere but with an old skool member! :driving :god
I\'m sure it\'s lovely but it\'s in a \'protected\' sectioon...
When did you last see one of these?
Mazda323 1300E
first reg 15/09/1977
1 owner
10,000 miles
11 months mot
5 months tax
THIS IS NOT A CONCOURS SHOWCAR BUT IT COULD BE
The elderly owner parked the car up in 2002 and has since passed away.
Five years later the car was taken for an mot which it passed with flying colours(NO adviseries)
Sadly i do not have any history to confirm the mileage but in my opinion it is genuine.
The car was waxoyled and body injected when new and the floor mat (NO carpet) is still shiny and the headcloth is brilliant white.
The panels and paint are as it left the factory albeit with a few minor paint blisters and the interior is as new although there is some loose stitching on the drivers seat.
I do hope this goes to a good home where it will continue to be cherished and not destroyed by the rally/retro boys.
£1995
I am in Fife which is 20 miles North of Edinburgh

No offence mate but I just dont see the attraction !!!
Its nice but I wouldnt pay that much for it.
Thats a beautiful example, but, yeah, I reckon 2K is a bit too much
wow ... where is Rich ? that needs to be kept as is and not sold to some butcher like me :)
Think i\'d prefer to buy the RS2000 parked behind the Mazda:o
RS\'s are common as muck if you don\'t get why it is cool you must drive an FD ;) (and I don\'t mean that as an insult)

Your right i do own an FD and a RS 2000:Thumbs-up Gosh they both look common as muck!!
I can go to any car show and see an FD or an RS2000... my Dad used to have a 323 when I was a kid and when was the last time you saw one of those on the road?
Or how about a MK1 fiesta? (not an XR) or ... get my drift ? people keep the iconic cars but the bog standard stuff gets forgotten and you never see them again.

There\'s a very good reason for that Mike :)
I do like good examples of unmolested older cars but this one is hardly a classic outside of the few people who love old Mazdas. It\'s not even a rotary which means, for the majority around here, it\'s got even less to make it interesting!
£2k for it is a real eye opener though!
Ian , but if you pop along to a retro show in that car, there will be plenty of people appreciative of it. I like Mazdas, but I enjoyed the Retro show for the Datsun 140y, Toyota Corona coupe, even the old Anglias, Cortinas, Minis and the like made for very interesting viewing.
I agree its probably not a "classic", YET. And yes, sadly, there arent too many Mazda fans on this site !!
Lets hope it goes to someone who will keep it original.
In OZ
Someone would soon have that and whack a 13bT in there.
Tubs in the rear and turn it into a 10 second drag car.!
Yahoo. Chassis flex here we come.

I agree - not sure that it will ever become a classic though.
Odd thing this \'classic\' and \'iconic\'... think about the Morris Marina (bloody awful car).
Probably both a classic and an icon merely because of how bad it was!
I doubt the 323 was ever bad enough or good enough to be either and because of that you would have to have some attachment to the marque or model to think anything special of it.
Take the Mark II Ford Cortina. Certainly tome it\'s a iconic as the amrk I and mark II Escorts (even the RS2000) - because my mum owned one back when I was 8 or 9 (my uncle had a 1600E which was very nice). That\'s maybe one of the best things about cars - we all have our own criteria for what makes a car special!
I\'m certainly not going to put this car down but it certainly falls a long way short of my own views in what makes a car desirable!
The Haynes museum was going to great pains to save the ordinary cars of yesteryear - wonder if they would be interested...?
As for the price, how often do you come across a 10,000 mile, one owner car from the 70s? Thats where the £1995 has come from. :yes
Old skool is cool :Giggle
