Title: Alarm recommendations/fitters in SW
Post by: CSE on July 24, 2007, 04:46:19 PM
hi ppl,

i\'m just about to buy a RX-7 but it needs an alarm. From what i have read some brands are better than others and there are some considerations when fitting one to a FD.

Has anyone got a recommendations for the brand and model (nothing crazy just cat1 with central locking) and does anyone know a place in the south west (i\'m in Taunton) that has experience in fitting alarms to FD\'s?

Cheers

Carl

I\'m happy enough with my Toad A606. Most places charge about £300.

Try GAP Security, they supply loads of different cat1\'s and then sub contract the fitting to someone who is reasonably local to you. You can find adverts in most car mags, and they usually advertise on the back page of the modifying mags, max power etc.

I would really recommend this guy (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/specialized_security) on ebay, he installed mine.  Nice chap, worked very quickly and seemed to know his stuff and it\'s much cheaper than the other places I found (who incdentally wanted stupid amounts extra to install the door motor, whereas this guy just wanted something like £15 which was basically the cost of the motor)

He is fully approved so you get a certificate etc etc. :Thumbs-up

He won\'t come to taunton for free but you could always drive to him :)
