Title: Idle hunts until warm
Post by: Brett on July 24, 2007, 02:59:07 PM
The idle is hunting on the TII coupe at the moment, once fully warm its ok and sits at 750, however when its still cold the idle fluctuates up and down from the 1500 cold start to the 750 warm idle.

I\'m thinking the idle assist is on the way out - is this the same part as on the EGi?  It looks the same, just on the other side of the inlet manifold....

TIA :cheers

I had problems with the TPS that gave similar symptoms - hunting up and down until it was warm.  A good test for this is when it\'s warm, gradually increase the revs and see if it stutters around 1500 rpm - seemed to be where mine was a bit flaky.

Could also be BAC solenoid or the wax thermo thingy in the throttle body.

Yeah - the wax thermo thing I have a spare EGi one, and it looks kind of similar - if its the BAC/TPS then thats a ball ache :(
