I keep thinking about going bare arse, or possible GT wing but can\'t decide!!
What you guys think??
i thought about bare arse for ages but i am getting a GT wing when its ready :)
I might take it off and see what it looks like without the spoiler.
Go GT wing.... they are just MADE for the Rex! :)
Big spoilers can be nice, but a bare-arse gives the FD a more balanced profile...hence, i\'m looking at a naked buttock:cheers
I\'ll take mine off and see what it looks like. Will take some piccys etc.
Nah! I hate that bare-arsed look, do you want your Rex to look like an old Jag XK!?
GT wings are a bit chav too. Sorry guys! Just my opinion ([flamesuit=on]).
bare arse is the way to go.
the rex looks classy and sophisticated without a big gapping spoiler. in my opinion, the majority of people hear us coming turn round to see what the car is, see the spoiler and think to themselves, \'another chav\'!
i have noticed that people tend to appreciate the car and give you more respect when bare arsed!
the sun is out!!!
I\'m in the same dilema.....however i\'ve been told when running more than standard power, that there are serious downforce issues on the rex?
Is this true?
Most wings won\'t really do anything bar look nice.
Would a diffuser not help more with df???
I have a diffuser but unless they\'re the full underneath type, they don\'t make that much of a difference.
I think wings do have a use on serious bhp cars....e.g. the porkers, nobles, etc so there must be a use. Not the 1.2 corsa\'s I agree...
So hence the question does anyone have a 450bips bare arsed rex?
do you have stability issues at higher speed....
and i\'d NEVER go for a gt wing.....I don\'t like the romote control look....
(just kidding!! :evillaugh )

Not according to this article.

And besides wouldn\'t bolting a massive spoiler to the boot just create loads of front end lift at speed?

Brilliant....and a truly fascinating article!!
Bare ar5ed it is....:D
B*ll*cks to that ......... GT Wings are the best.

this u selling off all yer extra bits to pay for my wheels :P
I much prefer going bareback!! :)
(but I would be tempted by some of the GT style rear wings, but only tempted!)

Soz Jimbo but going off topic here............................
Were you at the Fast and Modified show on Sunday John.....?????
Afraid not dude
Thought it looked like your motor mate.................
I was bare arsed for a long time until I bought my GT wing.. .. Now the wings been on it looks so weird when I take it off... all my mates tell me the RX7 NEEDS a GT wing and I have to say I agree :D
its all about the GT wing
NO DOUBT
rx7 and gt wings are a match made in heaven
it does no look as good on any other car as it does on the rex
I had a look at the standard RX spoilers (in fact I\'ve still got one in the garage) and they\'ll do sod all. which is why I\'ll be racing mine like this:

No spoiler and I\'m not worried about rear grip being an issue. If I wanted (and was allowed to fit) a proper wing I\'d be looking one //www.motorsportads.co.uk for an ex F3 wing or similar - problem is that you would more than likley mess up the front/rear balance and suffer from a lot of high speed understeer.
Most high speed stability (or instability) problems come from ride height, poor damping and toe. Worn dampers are a bugger for making a car feeling wandery at high speed, and to much toe will make the car feel floaty or darty.
Just my opinion but i think on my car no spoiler looks odd.
Will post up some piccys, not very good ens mind but you will get the general idea.
Took it off so i could drive around a few weeks to see if i liked it but took me 30seconds to put it back on.
Spoilers have a massive affect on cars........negative and positive, you have to understand the fundamentals and physics of them otherwise they will be as much use to you as a chocolate teapot........:2Rolleyes
Took mine off after a guy who used to be involved with F1 informed that the particular one I had would have had zero downforce, probably the opposite, and would just slow me down :) Needless to say it came straight off. I\'ve still got the runners on at the moment but they\'ll be sorted sometime soon:

Go bare arsed, it looks great like that. 350Z looks better without the spoiler too. After reading the article about drag and lift I\'ve got no quarms about removing the spoiler, will still fit a diffuser though and front canards will help too.
Anyone want a 96 spoiler?
i went bare arsed for a while but then changed it cos it made the back end look a volvo.
yeah the wings have massive effect when going fast, the one on my mates evo creates so much downforce its pushed itself thru the carbon boot lid, so after having it repaired and steel plates put in the lid.... its doing it again, if you put your hand out the window at 100mph the air hitting the surface of your hand blows it about allot, imagine what effect that will have on the surface of a big spoiler
Very true. Aerodynamics get quite complicated (believe me i know). The spoiler the article was talking about was some fancy pants aftermarket thing that just looks the part, hence why you could see the disruption on the beginning of the spoiler. With a wing you get a smooth transition from front to back, but this is dependant on alot of factors which i am not going to get into. Aside from all this, unless your moving at high speed its really not going to matter.

ive heard other people say that. what volvo looks like a rex?
