Title: RX8 Turbo?
Post by: Carl on February 01, 2004, 08:45:01 AM
I have heard something exciting about the RX8.
I have been told that this year Mazda are going to build 400 turbo charged RX8\'S for the Japanese market only.
I hasten to add that I do not know for sure how true this is.
If it is true though I think it must be to homologate it for some sort of really competitive racing.
Does anyone else have any info on this?
Kind regards
Carl

Hi Glenn,
my source is a Kiwi at a Mazda dealer.
Just think of the kick in the pants that would give with a turbo.
Kind regards
Carl

Yep - there is nothing below 5000rpm, a turbo would be brilliant - it doesn\'t even need to be a large turbo.

The thing is too Glen
the turbine housing could be smaller too because of there being a complete shutting of the exhaust ports.
So a really responsive system could be built that would be brilliant.
Carl;)
