Looking at a car this weekend has a RE-A Ecu fitted, which ive read is set for jap spec fuel

would it be safe to drive home on super unleaded and a good dose of octane booster?

I wouldnt worry too much about it.  I ran one for six months on just optimax and never saw any real det at all, until i changed it for pfc.

make sure you run 98 octane and the boost switch for the RE ECU is not set to high
