Title: JAE Site Plan
Post by: clive on July 14, 2007, 10:21:15 PM
Please see attached update site plan for JAE - MRC are now situated top left of the map - next to Jap Girls.

Currently we have only 10 people attending both days and another 6 on Sunday!

Well we are located next to Jap girls eh ??? should get a few more coming then ???

I think if this event is again attended poorly Clive we should knock it off next years MRC events as its unfair for you and Lisa to set these things up and only 10-16 cars coming :(

Also once again we have failed to attend as a rotary community by which i mean RX80C is on the complete opposite side to MRC :3Confused

why isnt this event very popular then? ive never thought of going myself as ive always thought it was a small non publised one and tbh it just passes by without me noticing but seems great and not exactly like its in scotland or anything.

most of the community live nearby so surely this should be massive!

I think basically the nature of car meets has moved to either track or drag strip action and also a car show, JAE is of the static kind thus you turn up park your car and then spend the day looking at other cars and having a good social chat with the rest of the MRC gang :D

But i think some might find it boring as no real action, and also lately there are more events coming into the mix which means people have to  choose which ones they are going to attend as most of us cant attend them all.

We have a problem at JAE where the turnout from us at MRC has been very very poor, last year on the sunday we had 11 cars but the pitch was for 50cars so you can imagine the embarrassment when people come to see the rotaries and theres a massive empty section :( :( :(

thats soo bad!

i get bored of track and drag action and sometimes ive hoped that there would be more static events just so its more social as santa pod and japfest events etc are always just look at other cars and race and for 99% of the time the owners are elsewhere and even club members dont chat much.

this should be mrc social event of the year! if someone held a babeque for 50 i at a nice big scenic place such as gary suggested at his house i bet 50 would turn up!

even japshow was a washout this year and approx 55-60 rotary were meant to b there! i have to admit i like the fact that my care is special because its rare but i have been very disapointed with the lack of togthermanship (nice new word for you lot) which has brought me back towards my first love of supras purely due to the large amount of enthusiastic sociable owners.

i know theres less of is but a usual turnout of 12-15 to an average even is shocking :( thumbs down

I think at pod there was still 35 cars that came even though it was a wash out, but as you said people were elsewhere and not really with their cars, also better if you know what they look like in the first place :rollin

:(  So we\'ve moved away from the RX8OC  :(   Our Rotary turn out will look even more poor now. At least before we were together with them and other Mazda\'s.  I was quite keen on parking next to the MX5 Nutz guys as I had persuaded my girlfriend to come to this as she could park her MX5 on their stand right next to us.  Oh well

Ok before you all now critise where the MRC cub stand are, perhaps you should try organizing an event and trying to keep everyone happy!!!! then perhaps you will realize all the work that goes into trying to organise an event.

Firstly, we left it late to book club stand space, due to MRC being incorrectly invited to Billing.  Then when we decided to go to JAE even though we knew that this event would be poorly supported, we asked RX-8 OC to have their club stand next to us, at that time the RX-8 OC where situated on the very top right of the attached map, as we did not like the location we asked for a different stand space and again asked the RX-8 OC to join us, unbeknown to me they had moved their stand space to the bottom right of the site plan, as we felt that this was a little bit out on a limb, we asked if we could be in the area where there were more clubs. The RX-8OC did not want to move from their new location hence why the two clubs are now in different locations.

So you see it has taken me time just to explain to you why we are in the position we are in at JAE let alone trying to get people to commit to the event and then organize everything we have to do in getting all the club stuff there, in the event that people turn up.

Rant over!!

I\'ll be attending but with my own club (JAMI) situated very top right of the map.  My bro and I will come over to MRC and bring our cars too but feel free to come and say hi at anytime (we are next to Miss Banzai which could be fun)

See you there!

WHOAH hang on a minute!!   Dont be so touchy.  I was aiming that comment at JAE not you guys!  I assumed it was JAE who decided where we are placed - but going by your reaction I assume that is not the case?

Either way I would never make a dig at you guys who organise these events - I arrange the occasional Activity day for the MRC crowd and that is a complete nightmare - and its not half as involved as the event you guys organise...

I may come last minute for the weekend but still not sure yet, don\'t fancy travelling all that way on my own. Is there space on the stand if I do end up coming?

Thats where you\'re wrong Ali,

Your car doesn\'t have to be modified to the eye balls to get on the stand, every single rotary is more than welcome so if you have time please come, always nice to meet new members :cheers

Hi Alison

Welcome to MRC - look forward to seeing you at your first MRC event.

Click on link for directions - you are looking for the East of England Showground

Once you are in the showground, look out for the yellow gazebo hoods and yellow banner flag and you will find us.

Whatever time you want really, something like leaving Derby at 9am ?? #

Will be taking the A47 route, so A50 - M1 - A47 - Peterboro .

Been there only once before but with Sat/nav and a check of the map before i leave should be ok, i remember it was quite well sign posted once you were close by so should be cool.

If you want to meet up at the Shell services on the A50 for say 9am will that be cool with you ?? :Thumbs-up

Yep if you keep going along the A50, the Shell services are after signs for Derby, about another 20mins after the Uttoxeter ones, trust me :D

Come into the services and round the back is a car park will wait for you there for 9am all being well :wave
