Title: This may have come up before...
Post by: FEED Rocket on July 11, 2007, 01:45:21 PM
I\'ve heard lots about the different types, such as RZ, S, R RB....Mine is classed as an RM. I\'ve heard bits and bobs about this, but noone can give me a definitive answer....

What the hell is a Type-RM? :3Confused

try this http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394 (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394)

According to that, the RM doesn\'t exist but I recall someone else having one too!

This is the info sticker on the vehicle. Its not an RB because of the hard suspension. It says on the right hand side Type-RM Special Edition.

The special edition is actually the heading, like grade above it.  So it\'s just a Type-RM.

If it was a bathhurst it would say it under the special edition heading.

Why not email Newera (I\'m assuming that\'s where you got it from the pic!)... I\'m sure they\'ll be able to shed some light on it.

Everyone check your info stickers and see if you have a Type-RM. If not, post here what your Type is. Thanks.

Can\'t believe this thread has gone on so long without anyone using the search button. Your car is a Bathurst.

Like i said at the top, someone on here said it was a Bathurst but that doesnt make sense. The Bathursts didnt have hard suspension which mine has, or indeed had. So how does that work?

What year is yours? The first Bathursts were based on the Type R so would have hard suspension.

:3Confused 1995. Some people on other forums are saying its a Type-R but manual transmission, seems odd to me.

Well that\'s the first year Bathursts were out. I\'ll check the info I\'ve got at home as to exact spec over the weekend.
The manual transmission thing is incorrect. As Jono said above, that\'s already stated on the ID plate, they wouldn\'t add it as part of the designation. Besides, all of the other "Types" would also have to have M or A at the end of their designation to denote transmission and that\'s simply not the case.

Just looked it up. \'95 Bathursts were based on the Type-R. The Type RB was a separate model (that\'s what I\'ve got).

Damn you Mazda! So what does that mean? Is it a special edition?

It was to begin with. In later years I think it was part of the normal range.

Off the subject a little, have you heard of shineautoproject? They make replica RE-Amemiya and FEED parts pretty cheap. Not sure if they ship over here but you really can\'t tell the difference!

After reading this thread, I\'ve just had a look and realised that mine is a type RM as well. So whats the final thought on it. Does it have any real differences?
