Title: Notice anything different ?
Post by: Hayward North on July 07, 2007, 04:35:41 PM
Well its installed and working a treat.
As you can see i now have my Aquamist 2d water injection system up and running with a little help from a few guys here.
Decided to put the pump and relay in the boot and run it off the rear washer bottle with a filter and check valve before the pump, and put the rest under the bonnet.
Took the advice of a few members and tied the water in with the secondarys with no boost, so when the secondarys come on then so duz the water.
Taped the jet into the newly perchased Greddy Elbow and took here for a blast.
Noticed imediatly that air temps never got any higher than 35 and the biggest suprise of all is that my knock never went higher than 21, i usually have knock of about 40.
I have not tuned for performance with water so this is only a safty mesure and if it runs out then ill just be back to what i had before the water.

Gonna tinker with water/Meth next to see if i can further reduce the intake temps.

Oh and the car seems smoother, but maybe thats just me.

Included a pic so i can show off my new Greddy elbow, You can see the water injector taped into it, not everyones ideal placement but i have it on good authoraty that this is the place for it :D

Looking good Steve,

WI is deffo a brill placement for safety, you\'ll notice the intake temps drop dramatically when on boost on a hot day, what boost setting you got the WI coming in at ??

Boost settings are errr zero i guess, as i have set the water 2 come on as soon as the secondarys do.

Asking as you dont want too much water going in as might bog the car down if there too much being injected in.

On the last rx i had we set the WI to be active at 0.7bar on a T78 setup rx7.

Will keep that in mind, but at the mo its set for 0psi and on when secondrys are and it drives and feels nice and smooth so guess al is good, if it starts to bog ill slowly up the psi cut in point till its smooth again.

Now i just need to get myself a ally water tank for the boot.

Oh and i will be upping the ignition system soon as well to produce a stronger spark as iv just perchased a HKS Twin Power and am just waiting on delivery, so hopefully it will help with any breakup that may occure with the water/meth.
