Post by: Teighto on July 03, 2007, 11:13:19 AM
Right Peeps,

I wanna get hold of a second hand engine, so that i can strip it all down and rebuild it myself,

Any ideas on how much i should be looking to pay and where abouts i should look ???

p.s    - My engine is fine it is just for when the Inevitable might happen !!

Yes, but I think it overheated. That means the Rotor Housings probably need replacing. (The aluminium ones) and on the FD a water leak is usually caused by corrosion in a side housing (The black ones). So I reckon you will need at least 1 side housing and then 2 Rotor housings, plus gasket kit. It had good compression before that.

I think it has done about 40 - 50 k miles.

It is very difficult to say what can be re-used BEFORE the engine is stripped down.

Hi mate...

I have a block for sale if you\'re interested? Also comes with water pump, LIM, Power Steering pump, fuel rails and injectors. (think that\'s it)

The diagnosis of it was that it possibly lost a tip or an apex seal failed.
