Title: Pricing Suggestions please
Post by: hawker182 on July 02, 2007, 10:14:30 PM
Due to unforseen circumstances i am regretably thinking about having to sell the TII in the garage. I am wondering how much half completed projects go for and whether or not to stick it on ebay? Thoughts Please

1990 TII S5 - UK Spec
Trust Greddy FMIC Setup
Greddy Style BOV
Magnecor Leads
Dual Alternator Pulley
Short Ram Induction
Cone Filter
Electric P/S Conversion
No Aircon/cruise control
Air pump removed with blocking off plates
Battery Relocated to rear bin
FD fuel pump
Ohlins coilovers fitted all round (dropped by 40mm and stiff)
2.5" Straight through single exit stainless exhaust inc de-cat and downpipe
Intercooler Spray system
Aluminium bonnet
Rear Strut Brace
Bodywork in A1 condition
Rust Free
Boxes and Boxes of spare parts
Think thats all lol

I\'ve been working on the car for about 12mnths and have had it as a long term project, its been garaged for the past 8mnths and will be a beauty once finished. Obviously i\'ve been spending a small fortune on this car and it is so close to being finished and ready for an MOT. Any ideas on prices would be handy, or anyone know of anyone looking for one. Any thoughts welcome

Cheers Adam

Is there no way you can get it road worthy? YOu will more than double its value if its road worthy.  Project pricing can be iffy - My guess would be to add up what you have spent and divide it by 4 :(

if its that bad - i reckon break it for spares

you will prob see most of your money back that way

such a shame that you have to sell though :(

I\'d have to echo the other comments - unless it\'s a running car, it will fetch a lot less than the value of the parts if you break it.

If you\'ve got a chance of getting it running/driving, someone here may pick up a decent project but I\'m not sure how much you\'d get for it...

you got a price in mind Adam ?
Title: Pricing Suggestions please
Post by: hawker182 on July 03, 2007, 04:33:53 PM
Yeah seems as though i thought, guess would like about the £500 mark for it as is, may stick it on ebay with a reserve see what happens....u never know. If not will do my upmost to get it running. Suppose with a fresh 12mths MOT it\'ll be worth alot more. Either need it running or gone by September unless fate has it otherwise, cheers for comments though. Need to go price up what parts are needed to get her running....then look at the pro\'s and cons of spending the money in order to sell it...Hmmmmm decisions decisions

if thats all you want .. must resist

i reckon you could break it for a lot more than that

Trust Greddy FMIC Setup - 200
Greddy Style BOV - 5pence to me - 40
Magnecor Leads -15
Dual Alternator Pulley - 15
Short Ram Induction - 25
Cone Filter - 10
Electric P/S Conversion - 25
FD fuel pump - 20
Ohlins coilovers fitted all round (dropped by 40mm and stiff) - 150
2.5" Straight through single exit stainless exhaust inc de-cat and downpipe - 150
Intercooler Spray system - no idea
Aluminium bonnet - 75
Rear Strut Brace - 15

so thats gives us .... £740

and you can still strip the car for bit like seats and switches - that prob another £200 easy

so thats nearly 1K

Yeah when you look at it like that i suppose their is money to be made back by breaking it, thanks for that Stu ;)

Like i said though am only just thinking about it and wanted some opinions on the idea. Ideally i think i\'d like to get it going and see the fruits of my labour over the past year, i could alway sell the coupe, which i dont wanna cause its my daily runner and its a beaut!

Hmm need to do the maths...cheers guys

Shame you are thinking of getting rid one way or another :(

Is there much in the way of getting it finished?

Makes me so tempted to brake mine and buy yours!  Especially for the £500! :2eek

Getting it finished..hmmmm is it ever finished, that is the question lol

No not really needs the throttle body hooking upto the FMIC piping and prob a wee bit of petrol then should be good to go for an MOT.

Also at present needs the downpipe, decat, dual alt pulley (have the extra belt, well 2 new ones) fitting, a bit of coolant, new oil filter (ready and and waiting) and a nice charged battery and she should start up! Thats how it should go lol. Will need a few extras too, either FCD or ECU as it\'ll prob run all lumpy to start with. Dosent really seem like so much, hmm decisions

I\'d agree with John - it doesn\'t sound like it\'s a huge amount of work to finish up the car. Unless you\'re in a desperate hurry for the cash, I\'d finish it. Takes a while, but that should be OK, shouldn\'t it?

Ok after a long think the cars gonna be stripped and sold for spares, then scrapped, cant justify spending more and more on her at the mo, i am only at home 2 days of the week too so will have no time to carry on the project as i\'d like. Not gonna let it all go for silly prices though as i\'m gonna pile the money into a nice running FD. See the for sale thread for parts, there are lots and lots of them lol

Cheers Guys and another sad day for the FC...will someone not offer good money and take the lot? Hmmm tempting yes

Interested in loads of the parts...... :chat  (you sure you not gonna fix it?!)

Engine
Electric PS pump stuff
Windscreen (again)

Just out of interest, what would you sell the car for?
Title: Pricing Suggestions please
Post by: hawker182 on July 22, 2007, 07:07:57 PM
Yeah no worries Ricco, all gotta go, havnt the time to finish it how i would have liked too, change of jobs!  So looking at a nicely modded RUNNING fd, well once the TII\'s broke and gone. Well i reckon i shouold get back just shy of a grand if i break it so unless i get a high offer in the £750ish range then i\'ll just break it, spent to much to throw even more money away.

interested in these alltogether :chat  :

Sounds good ricco, am thinking £35 on the P/S pump though as i paid £60 for it and £175 on the complete exhaust. If you want the lot then let me know asap and i\'ll keep it from going on ebay. What do you want to know about the engine? I\'ll do my best

Lol maybe Stu. £60 for the lot above

BOV is blue/chrome and comes with all fixings, gaskets, vacuum lines, its adjustable too ;o)

Ricco dont have pics to hand, its all chrome apart from downpipe, all brand new, fitted but never used, 2.5" straight through inc de-cat with 3" (i think) single exit with silencer bung. All very lovely

QuoteEngine wise :

I am to believe its had a rebuild, no paperwork to back this up. It is standard, has 157170 on the clock and when i last had it on the road it was pulling strong and never had a problem at all. Regarding price!? depends on how much of it you\'d be taking and what you wanted to offer

Post by: grinder on July 22, 2007, 08:53:36 PM
Adam ,

yeah seems a fair price to be honest - i just want to confirm a few things first

1 - the bov - does it come with the hard pipe that sits between the turbo and the IC ?? ( like this : http://i8.ebayimg.com/05/i/07/63/64/1b_10.JPG )
2 - what the hell is the IC spray ??

Stu

*** edit ***

Hiya Adam the BOV isnt the style i was thinking of :( - just looked back at your threads - and yours sits on the IC piping - which mine hasnt got

so let me know what the IC spray is and we can work a deal on the IC spray and the Magnacor leads - failing all this - how much for the leads alone !!

Stu
Title: Pricing Suggestions please
Post by: hawker182 on July 22, 2007, 09:01:14 PM
No it doesnt come with the hardpipe, it was fitted to the flange on my FMIC. The magnecors are as i recieved them as i havnt started the car since. The IC Spray is a system i was throwing together, it combines a washer bottle with inbuilt motor, lots of high pressure washer hose to run from the boot to the IC, 2 or three (if i can find them) Misting nozzles and a toggle switch with blue LED to activate it. I was gonna hook the + and - up to the switch and battery via a fuse and run the piping with the nozzles to the IC. I had it working in the garage just never got round to actually fitting it. When you want it throw the switch and cool water (with ice cubes ;o) will get misted over the IC and reduce the charge temp. Simple but effective, everything you\'ll need is here, nice big reservoir too. Can be mounted anywhere

cheers adam

have you seen the size of the boot on the cab :(

right then - it looks like i just need the leads then - how much posted to me and how do you want paying ??

Ricco welcome to come over anytime just give me a days notice, the sooner the beta as it\'ll all be going on ebay soonish. Have a camera just been lazy, will get some pics done tomor.

Pete no crossmember, no front brace but 2nd dibs on the coilovers may be ok. they look sweet as i have fitted them and the car is low and looks awsome, really gives it a good line, wish i had the opp to throw them round some corners.

Coolio, got the number saved.  I finish work at 15.30 so can get up to you any time after that, not fussed if its much later as long as there is some kind of light to be able to see.  Best send us a text tomorrow to tell me what time to get my arse up to yours cause I wont see this thread till after work now!

Cheers mate, good luck with the entire car sale - any change of plans then just let us know :wave

Have all those things, yeah the tail lights are the round type. the wheels are standard 16" TII alloys, newish tyres (plenty left on them) and in what i\'d call \'good for the age\' condition. If it doesnt get sold as a whole then the parts are yours, the clutch is good.

I also have a spare warning light instrument panel, and multifunction control box for the lights (the one next to the fuse box in the drivers foot well?) If you want them i can send them out £20 inc postage. If you\'d rather hang on see if it gets broke and pick the lot up then thats fine also.
