Title: Commander (heat) warning light came on, injector duty warning??
Post by: teabagger on July 02, 2007, 12:31:04 PM
Hello,

Right, first please excuse any noob-related numptyness...

On friday my heat light came on for a couple of mins. I\'ve got a Commander with Apexi ECU so presumably it was a warning from this.

Situation: Was on dual carriageway, booted it through 3rd and 4th for a pretty short burst then eased off and then exited off slip road. As I dropped onto the next road the heat light came on permanently, was pootling along at 50/60 mph at this point. Temps and knock levels all fine on Commander. Dropped right back down to 20/30 to keep an eye on things, all seemed well. Temps etc. good on commander. After a minute or two the heat light cleared.

Am I right in thinking this was an injector duty warning? I checked it and I believe it peaked at 91.5%

I had mine peak at that sort of figure on Friday. Haven\'t seen any heat light flasses for that.

If it\'s still on, you can go to the switch/sensor check screen off the \'etc\' menu. It should highlight which sensor or switch is having problems.

I have had the light flash for injector duty warning and for knock but I\'ve never had it stay on for a minute or more, that sounds odd.

I did have a problem with loose wiring the other day which made the light come on whenever I went round corners! Check the wiring at the back of the ecu in the passenger footwell if you think it might be dodgy.

Hmmmm. I managed to get something wet when I hit a huge puddle a few weeks ago that resulted in the light coming on/off for an hour as if something had a dodgy connection. It sorted itself out after it dried out. Wonder if it might be connected.

Where is a good place under the bonnet to start checking connections?
