Title: I Ran 11.9 at santa pod today
Post by: bobert on July 01, 2007, 11:28:05 PM
I went to fast fest today to see what my car would do down the strip.
I dropped my tyre pressures a bit, softened my suspension up, set my boost to 1.2 bar and I was away. The best I ran was an 11.98 @ 119mph which was only my 4th run.
The only thing think I struggled with was going through second gear, every time I got into second I got loads of wheel judder and spin.
I would of liked to run with water injection today but I never got round to fitting it, I had a great day out though.
All in all I am happy with today I never set out to use my car for the strip its mainly for the track.
Here are some of my slips.

Well done,
Very good time on those tyres, you will shave a fair bit more off if you put some Mickys or whatever on :Thumbs-up .

Is it those tyres, which are killing the times, just can\'t get one the 12 dead or below. 12.434 196 Km\'s terminal. Although, I did not go mad on the start, don\'t wanna blow gear box or diff. Also, whats the point of spinning the wheels?
Or is just me, !!!! Ummmmm! any ideas. I am sure it could get into the 11 second box!

13b extended street port, masterpower T-70 single turbo, 850cc primaries, 1600cc secondary, large fmic and profec b boost controller.

I had it mapped 500 miles after I re-built it which was about 3 weeks ago and it made 400fwhp @ 0.85 bar.
I was running at 1.2 bar yesterday and seemed solid.
Water injection is my next step just as to be safe.
I’m only running a .85 exhaust housing but if I was to use a 1.20 ex housing with water injection @ 1.2 bar I would probably and see the see the high end of 470-500bhp at a push. The list could go on forever.
Quit when your ahead a say, i am so glad I cracked the 11’s and I think that’s where I am going to leave it:3Confused.
Its back to the track for me:3gears-lh

cheers guys:wave

Oooo dear, ive been in my car this morning and there is some awful sound coming from my diff.
I suppose that’s the price you pay for having 15 runs at pod
Title: Sorry about that one

I think that’s why I don’t push my car too hard. After thinking about things, I had to run in 35c +  temps with a 3% gradient up hill, road Advan rubber, road plugs which start to crack up after 6500RPM and only running around 13lb of boost. And finally, not going to mad up to around 25 MPH as I don’t wanna blow the box or that diff. So 12.4 runs were quite reasonable I suppose! Very hard to get the parts out here.

She has been de-tuned quite a bit, so as not to trash the machine.

Excuses, excuses, excuses.

I think you should slap some drag slicks on and see what this 20b monster is really capable of?:Giggle

I told you I didn’t need a bigger exhaust housing. Ha ha:Tongue1

I’m really tempted to enter totb after this performance.
