Post by: colin5524 on July 01, 2007, 10:13:00 PM
quick question when running a divided turbo what would size of wastegates would i use, my project and info is on 2 generation section, or would it be just as well running each side into a single wastegate.

it depends on what porting and turbo you have

If home made then manifold design will play a big part as the aftermarket ones don\'t tend to have a very good flow path for the waste gate. Home made you can design to suit your needs. To give you an idea what i mean my last set up was running only a 38mm trial waste gate with zero boost creep issues on a 20b gt42 combination which in most set ups wouldn\'t of been any where near big enough. But the flowpath for the gasses meant they would naturally exit the wastegate, hence the smaller gate required.

so if i have it flowing in a nice straight path out through both pipes going into a single wastegate that should be adequate.
