my apologies for asking these daft questions but i\'m still finding my way round a rotary engine, anyway, here goes:
1. what is an ast, what does it do & does it matter if its upright or not?
2.how often should oil and filters be changed?
3.why are the headlights as much use as a handbrake on a canoe?
4.why does 1st into 2nd always crunch until she\'s warmed up and is this normal?
thats it for now, maybe a few more as i think of them. thanks guys.:wave
The AST is the place to fill the water system up from. Most people have got rid of it, cant give you a defo on whether it matters on direction, but would imagine yes being the answer.
Depends how hard you drive it. But I change my oil after every other race. The debate over types of oil is a biggy on here....but personally I run a mineral, and would suggest change it every 4000 miles.
I find a handbrake quite useful in a canoe! Try altering the lights, it could be they are out of alignment, usually quite good....if you don\'t like them buy better bulbs, if that fails get a conversion
Do you have a short shifter?

Er i think not! you fill up on the engine filler next to the alternator, the AST is an air seperator tank, i believe and probably would not work if you mount it sideways!
