Title: Some info about Apexi base map from Pip @ WGT
Post by: Jim_rx7 on June 26, 2007, 05:42:26 PM
Just came off the phone to Pip @ WGT. Asking a few questions about different things and also the Apexi PFC.

He said that the following...

Jap DP
Decatted mid section
Back box
Air Filters

Should run fine on a base map (later version) Apexi PFC. I\'m also fitting a FMIC though. He said that is when the problems would arrise and it would defo need remapped.

Just thought it\'s a little bit of usefull information. Obviously, if you have an Apexi PFC, the chances are that you will be getting it remapped anyway.

Still... usefull info all the same. Bear in mind, no come back here if your motor does go boom! lol.

:D

I think that is too many mods for base map.It is really just that,a map for a stock car.
Can run lean up top revs.
Of course it does depend on back box and decat pipe,if they are somewhat restrictive then you maybe ok,but if straight through then you are asking for trouble.

Carl

I\'m not gonna be booting it anyway until I get it remapped. I was just asking out of curiousity.

Craig.... maybe soon mate! I\'ve got a big bonus coming at the end of the week!

Or I might do that swap deal if you come collect?? :)

We\'ll see if the car starts tomorrow or not first!! :D

I wouldnt risk it....youve now spent a lot of money getting the car running again, and something as simple as running lean will cause everything to go bang!  You wouldnt spend loads of money on an R1 and then pay £20 on a helmet would you?

Im sure Carl would be happy for you to Send your PFC down to him, and he can load a map onto it that will suit your set up.  The cost of doing that will be a lot less than the cost of another rebuild.

Not only that, but it depends how you drive the car. If you spend most of your time in high revs at max boost youll have problems. If you tend to just boot it a bit up to 5k or so and change gear, youll be better off (Surprising i know but people do do that!)
